About this studio
VISIONS Contemporary Ballet is a professional concert dance company founded in 2007 by artistic director and choreographer Ranardo-Domeico Grays, based in Harlem and performing in New York City. It is a New York State registered professional dance company and a sponsored artist of The Field, a 501(c)(3) arts organization. The ethnically diverse ensemble presents contemporary ballets rooted in African American heritage with multicultural influences, aiming to uplift audiences, celebrate diversity, promote healing, provoke thought and educate through works exploring the human experience. Its 2026 season includes We People at The Riverside Theater. Alongside performances the company holds auditions and teaches a Repertory Workshop at intermediate and advanced level, in which participants learn company repertory; Grays' choreography fuses ballet, modern, jazz and African dance into a contemporary ballet style.
