The Cleveland Orchestra's Management And Musicians Announce Terms Of New Trade Agreement

Management and Musicians of The Cleveland Orchestra have successfully concluded negotiations for a new three-year trade agreement for the 2018/2019, 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons. The agreement was ratified by the members of the Orchestra through a vote which took place at the end of last week and weekend.

Fire on the Water is presented in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the burning of the Cuyahoga River. The production is onstage from February 9 through March 2, 2019, in CPT's historic Gordon Square Theatre.

Cleveland Play House (CPH) engages the audience's imagination as the epic adventure of An Iliad brings life to 54 characters through a single poet and her muse, a cellist. Performances take place in the Outcalt Theatre at Playhouse Square from January 12th through February 10th, 2019.  Featuring a heroic sound, with original composition by cellist Eva Rose Scholz-Carlson, actress Tarah Flanagan performs as The Poet in this adaptation of Homer's work, written by Lisa Peterson and Denis O'Hare.

Harry Connick, Jr. today announced additional Fall concert dates of the New Orleans Tricentennial Celebration tour that will continue to take him across the U.S. and also London & Paris this year. This new leg begins on November 26 with Harry and his amazing band performing songs in tribute to New Orleans as well as some of his holiday favorites. Tickets for the tour go on sale this week.

RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA, the 2013 Tony Award-winning Broadway musical from the creators of The King & I and The Sound of Music, will play Playhouse Square's Connor Palace for a limited engagement January 15 - 20, 2019 as a Huntington Featured Performance. Show times are Tuesday - Friday at 7:30PM, Saturday at 1:30 and 7:30PM, and Sunday at 1:00 and 6:30PM. CPT Awarded $50,000 Joyce Award Grant – Commission Will Stage New Work With Artist Lisa Langford

The Joyce Foundation announced today that Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) has been awarded a $50,000 2019 Joyce Award that supports collaborations between artists of color and arts and cultural organizations throughout the Great Lakes region. This award includes a $15,000 commission fee awarded directly to Lisa Langford.

Pacific Northwest Ballet Soloist Margaret Mullin Comes To Verb Ballets

Join Verb Ballets on January 4, 2019 for Live @ Noon an exclusive working rehearsal with Margaret Mullin. Mullin, a renowned soloist with Pacific Northwest Ballet, received a prestigious fellowship from the Princess Grace Foundation. For the past three years, Verb Ballets has been working in partnership with dancer Mullin and Nel Shelby Productions to create a documentary film No Dominion: The Ian Horvath Story. Mullin is the director and producer of the upcoming documentary and will be in studio setting Ian Horvath's last work, No Dominion. Set to Sir William Walton's cello concerto, the work for an all-male cast is a reflection on Horvath's impending death from AIDS. No Dominion takes its title from the poem 'And Death Shall Have No Dominion,' by Dylan Thomas. Her arrival in Cleveland is in preparation for Verb Ballets celebration of the life and work of Ian Horvath on February 9, 2019.

Clague Playhouse begins 2019 with a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Other Desert Cities.  Brook Wyeth returns home to Palm Springs after a six-year absence and announces that she is about to publish a memoir, dredging up a family tragedy from the past. The family, shaken by the news, tries to appeal to Brook, but the writer has drawn a line in the sand.  Note: Contains adult language.
