A multiple Daytony award winning performer, producer, and director, Barbara Coriell is a well known Dayton Playhouse alum who auditioned for - but was not cast in - the Playhouse's first production of Streetcar. She brings to us her talent and expertise in a production of Tennessee Williams most famous play, A Streetcar Named Desire. This play was selected by our audience, as were all of the shows this season, to help us celebrate our 50th anniversary. This will also be the first show which will use our new online ticketing system. This ticketing system is part of the success our fundraising campaign has brought to the Dayton Playhouse, enabling us to bring you another 50 years of great entertainment.

The Phoenix Theatre for Children will present a stage adaptation of one of James Thurber's most charming children's stories, Many Moons, in tribute to author, humorist, New Yorker cartoonist, and Columbus native James Thurber and in celebration of the 25th birthday of central Ohio's literary jewel, the Thurber House. This all-local production boasts colorful costumes, live musical accompaniment, and spirited characters portrayed by four central Ohio actors including 13-year-old Westgate resident Emma Welsh-Huggins who will play the central role. The cast is rounded out by GermanVillage resident Ted Amore, Gahanna resident Ian Short, and Marysville resident Joe Bishara.

Performances are Thursday, April 16 at 8 pm; Friday, April 17 at 11 am and 8 pm; Saturday, April 18 at 2 pm and 8 pm; and Sunday, April 19 at 3 pm. Cesear's Forum has rescheduled a suspended production of Edward Albee's Marriage Play for late spring, at Kennedy's Down Under, PlayhouseSquare, Cleveland, Ohio, April 17th through May 23rd. Mr. Albee, a three time Pulitzer prize-winning playwright and preeminent American dramatist, whose works include Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?, A Delicate Balance, Three Tall Women and The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?, wrote Marriage Play in 1987 during a period of disfavor from New York producers and critics. First presented in Vienna, the play was produced at New York's Signature Theatre in 1993 and rediscovered at London's National Theatre in 2001.
