Four School Theatre Programs Honored By National Association

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) recognizes schools whose theatre programs exemplify and promote high standards of quality in educational theatre with the Outstanding School Award. This year only four schools in the nation were honored: James A. Garfield High School in Seattle, Washington; Leavenworth Senior High School in Leavenworth, Kansas; Lewis & Clark High School in Spokane, Washington; and Woodmont High School in Piedmont, South Carolina.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company finishes its 25th Anniversary Season at The Otto M. Budig Theater with a new version of Georges Feydeau's farce by David Ives, A Flea in Her Ear. The production is directed by Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's Director of Creative Education and Outreach, Jeremy Dubin and features a 14 person cast with CSC Resident Ensemble Members Billy Chace, Kelly Mengelkoch, Sara, and Matthew Lewis Johnson. A Flea in Her Ear is generously sponsored by Murphy Landen Jones PLLC and J.P. Morgan.

The newly christened 'Moe and Jack's Place - The Rouse Theatre' will replace the Marx Theatre, the oldest, un-renovated mainstage facility at any regional theatre in the country.

Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, the Skivvies duo, are currently starring in Cincinnati Playhouse's production of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. The production is directed by Bill Fennelly, who directed Little Shop of Horrors. Along with Michael Holland, music director/new instrumental and vocal arranger, Fennelly and the company worked together in a collaborative and communal way, designing orchestrations with offbeat instruments like kazoos, slide whistles and washboards, along with the traditional guitar, piano and accordion.
