WVXU Presents David Sedaris Live at the Aronoff Center

Percussionist Colin Currie Takes Center Stage with CSO this Weekend

Scottish percussionist Colin Currie returns to Music Hall this today (April 12, 8 PM) and Saturday (April 13, 8 PM) with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) under the baton of guest conductor John Storgards. Currie and the Orchestra will perform a percussion concerto, titled Sieidi, written particularly for Currie by Finnish composer Kalevi Aho.

For the seventh year in a row, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and Cincinnati Pops are pleased to continue a collaboration with the combined orchestras and bands of Indian Hill, Mariemont and Madeira High Schools. This collaboration is a unique, enriching experience for the students in these three districts who receive coaching from CSO musicians and Pops Conductor John Morris Russell, while playing in a larger ensemble with students from other districts.

Along with this compelling lineup, next season also features the return of ETC's very first original holiday musical, plus a seventh (and explicit) show offering for those who are looking for some not-so-family-friendly entertainment.
Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Announces Program Change For Season Finale

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) announced a program change for the performances at Music Hall on Friday, May 10, at 11 AM and Saturday, May 11, at 8 PM. The program will now open with Music Director Louis Langree conducting Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 4 with Associate Concertmaster Stefani Matsuo as the soloist. The Mozart concerto takes the place of the previously announced Schubert Symphony No. 8. The second half of the program with Mahler's Symphony No. 5 is unchanged.

After a three-month selection process, The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT) has named the newest tri-state area schools that will partner with the JumpStart Theatre Program. The Educational Theatre Foundation (ETF), in collaboration with New York City-based companies iTheatrics and Music Theatre International (MTI) created JumpStart Theatre, a three-year scalable program designed to build sustainable musical theatre programs in underserved schools that previously had none.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company continues its 25th Anniversary Season at The Otto M. Budig Theater with William Shakespeare's Macbeth. The production is directed by Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's Associate Artist Miranda McGee and features a 21 person cast featuring CSC Resident Ensemble Members Giles Davies as Macbeth, Kelly Mengelkoch as Lady Macbeth, Grant Niezgodski as Macduff, and Justin McCombs as Banquo. The Cincinnati Arts Association announces the winners of its Overture Awards Competition, held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater, and the winner of its Arts Educator Award for Excellence in Arts Instruction. The competition awarded $4,000 to six area students for education and training, with 18 runners-up each winning $1,000, while the Arts Educator Award winner received $2,500 and two finalists were awarded $500 each.
