Beechmont Players Seek Help For Membership Meetings, Announce Upcoming Events

Beechmont Players needs your sparkling personality at Anderson Days! As usual, we'll have a booth where our neighbors can stop by and get more information about BPI, but we need members to man the booth! We're looking at 2 shifts per day, and we'd like to have 2-3 people per shift.

Victoria Theatre Association 2010-11 Tickets Go On Sale 7/31

Tickets for the majority of Victoria Theatre Association's 2010-2011 season will go on sale on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 10 AM. Patrons may purchase tickets online at www.ticketcenterstage.com beginning at 10 AM. At 12 Noon, patrons will be able to purchase tickets over the phone at 937-228-3630 or 866-228-3630, or in person at the Ticket Center Stage box office location in the Victoria Theatre, on the corner of First and Main Streets in downtown Dayton.

The show, an annual Tristate holiday tradition, celebrates its 20th year this season with performances running December 2 to 30.

This Saturday June 26th, two previous Elphabas from the widely popular Broadway musical Wicked will take the stage in Columbus. Julia Murney and Stephanie J. Block will sing in a special "Wicked Divas" concert with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra as part of the Nationwide Insurance Picnic with the Pops series. The orchestra is scheduled to perform selections from George Bizet's Carmen. Murney and Block will sing selections from Wicked, as well as Ragtime, Chicago, Funny Girl, and much more.

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park will end its 50th Anniversary Season with the longest-running musical in history and the most revived show at the Playhouse -THE FANTASTICKS, presented by the Morse & Betty Johnson Charitable Foundation. This enchanting and funny show begins public previews on May 15 and continues through June 20.

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra recently announced that Tony Award-winning actress and singer, Idina Menzel will make her Cincinnati Pops debut at Music Hall for the Orchestra's 2010-11 season opener on September 24, 25 and 26, performing diverse repertoire of classic pop, musical theater favorites (including hits from Wicked and Rent) as well as songs from her album, I Stand. Bernadette Peters was initially scheduled for the Pops opening concert, but is now scheduled to open the following Pops season, Sept. 16-18, 2011 in Music Hall.
