Ryan Archibald Teaches Improv For Adults At Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park

By:

Have you ever wanted to try playing improvisational games such as those seen on the show Whose Line Is It Anyway? Now's your chance! Ryan Archibald of Chicago's legendary The Second City will be coming to Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park to teach improvisation in

high-energy and interactive workshops for adults and teens. In addition, he will teach classes at The Playhouse's Summer Theatre Day Camp.
The beginner classes for adults and teens with no prior experience cover the "building block" skills of scenic improvisation and game play. The workshops will teach exercises and games that improve public speaking skills, non-verbal communication and self-confidence.

The workshops for adults with prior experience or formal theatre training focus on short-form and improvisation games, advanced scene study and long-form improvisation in a series of classes.

Ryan Archibald performed this season in the sold-out, record-breaking The Second City Does Cincinnati: Pride and Porkopolis. He has taught and performed improvisation for over 10 years in Chicago at The Second City and at the acclaimed iO Theater. Archibald has also worked with Boom Chicago in Amsterdam for three years, as a writer/performer and head trainer for their corporate workshops. For several summers, he has been a faculty member for the Second City's Boot Camp, a summer long intensive study for teens.

The Playhouse also receives funding from the City of Cincinnati and The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
