Writers Theatre will continue its 2022/23 Season with Manual Cinema’s Christmas Carol, a Manual Cinema production adapted from the novel by Charles Dickens, devised by Manual Cinema with additional writing by Nate Marshall. Manual Cinema’s Christmas Carol will be presented November 29 – December 24, 2022.

Manual Cinema's LIVE Tele-FUN-draiser World Premiere Special, Saturday, August 22 at 8 p.m. CST, is a one-night-only, 10th Anniversary variety show capped by the live debut of a new short work from the acclaimed Chicago-based live performance, design studio, and film/video production collective.
Manual Cinema, the Chicago-based performance collective, design studio, and film/video production company founded by Drew Dir, Sarah Fornace, Ben Kauffman, Julia Miller, and Kyle Vegter, will celebrate the company's 10th Anniversary with a four-week virtual celebration launching Monday, July 27 at Noon CST.
Eleven world premiere plays and musicals seen first by Chicago audiences were among those receiving nominations by the Jeff Awards, announced today. A total of 192 nominations were made in 34 categories that honor Chicago Equity theatrical productions that opened between August 1, 2018 and July 31, 2019. During the 2018-19 season, Jeff Awards judges attended opening nights of 132 Equity productions offered by 43 producing organizations and from these openings, 112 productions were a?oeJeff Recommendeda?? and eligible for award nominations.
