Based on a true story, writer Peter Rothstein uses traditional musical numbers and personal letters to tell the story of British soldiers fighting on the front lines against the Germans. As the story unfolds, the audience learns that the Pope has requested a Christmas truce and the British have refused to agree. Against orders and after much song and frivolity from the trenches, the soldiers dare to step out into no-man's land and a weird and wonderful Christmas celebration occurs.

The Series of four events throughout the season continues Sunday, December 5 at 5:00 pm at the Fulton Theatre, with AnnEliza Canning-Skinner (Fairy Godmother), Manna Nichols (Cinderella), and Kalen Robinson (Stepsister Grace). Although this show isn't specifically Christmas-themed, it is obvious that the Fulton pulled out all the stops, both creative and financial to bring their traditionally elaborate December production to the stage.

I had assumed that this was a new musical based on the classic film, but after doing a little digging, it turns out it was written in 1963 by Meredith Wilson, creator of The Music Man. The show seems fresh with a few exceptions.
