Movement-based interdisciplinary artist Eiko Otake responds to ecological crises in films such as “A Body in Tokyo.” Born and raised in Japan and a resident of New York since 1976, Eiko’s work in Eiko & Koma helped earn the duo a MacArthur Fellowship, a Guggenheim, the Samuel H. Scripps American Dance Festival and the Dance Magazine Awards. Eiko now performs as a soloist, directs her own projects, and creates films. This screening will share some of her recent, visually striking works.
