The Skidmore College Department of Theater is pleased to announce its Fall 2014 production, AMERICAN MEDEA, written and directed by new artist in residence Holly L. Derr. Performances are today, November 14-16 and November 20-23. All shows are in the Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater on the Skidmore College campus at 8:00pm except Sunday matinees at 2:00pm.

Coming up next on Kitchen Theatre Company's 24th Main Stage Season is Dominique Morisseau's explosive, uncensored Sunset Baby. A secret cache of letters brings together a 1960s revolutionary, his estranged daughter, and her drug-dealing boyfriend in this story of family and activism, revolution and estrangement. Sunset Baby begins previews on December 3rd, and opening night is December 6th. The play runs until December 21st.

The Syracuse Stage cast of Hairspray will sing on the first level of the Canyon Area of Destiny USA on Saturday, November 8 at 2 p.m. Presented in partnership with iHeart Media (formerly Clear Channel), the cast will be introduced by A.J. from Hot 107.9. Adding to the festivities, November 8 is the first full day that Santa will be at Destiny USA to meet and take photos with children, also in the Canyon Area.

The Hangar's Acting Out on the Hangar Stage, Community Charades Challenge took place on Saturday, October 18. With the support of the community - through donations to four teams of participants, the purchase of auction items, and ticket sales - the Hangar was able to reach its fundraising goal for the event, which supports the theatre's educational programming, raising a total of $26,000. This national, multi-day event will feature presentations and discussions with senior administrators and arts advocates from Syracuse Stage, Syracuse University, and Central New York. The keynote speaker is Bob Moss, former artistic director at Syracuse Stage and founder of Playwrights Horizons in New York City.

Following the wildly successful world premiere of The House, which rang in the 24th season, Kitchen Theatre Company is pleased to offer Steven Dietz's powerful and moving Lonely Planet. Lonely Planet tells the story of two friends, Jody and Carl, who use their wit and sense of absurdity to negotiate the turbulent world at the height of the AIDS crisis.
