Baltimore-born trumpeter and composer Brandon Woody is one of the most compelling young voices in jazz, with a sound rooted in spiritual jazz and Black American improvisational traditions. His ensemble Upendo reflects a commitment to collective uplift and deep listening. The group features Troy Long on piano and keys, Michael Saunders on electric bass, and Quincy Phillips on drums.
