Kati Neiheisel returns to Pangea in an encore performance of a new show featuring songs sung by Julie London, Billboard Magazine's Female Artist of the Year in 1955, 1956 and 1957. London was known for her smooth, smoky and sultry delivery of jazz-inspired tunes, many of which were written by her husband, jazz pianist Bobby Troup, best known for writing the song “(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66.” London and Troup are also known for starring together in Emergency!, a television series (1972-1979) produced by London's first husband, Jack Webb, of Dragnet fame. In addition to songs written by Troup, London by Night features songs of Carroll Coates, Arthur Hamilton, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Willie Nelson, and more! The show is directed by Lina Koutrakos, with musical director/arranger Gregory Toroian on piano, Skip Ward on bass, and David Silliman on drums. London by Night premiered at Pangea on August 24, followed by a performance on September 26, which coincided with Julie London's 98th birthday, and October 18, which coincided with Bobby Troup's 106th birthday. “Honey-voiced Kati is building up a reputation…using that gorgeous (no, really gorgeous) instrument to carry the audience away on a river of melody…” ~ BroadwayWorld Saturday, February 1 @ 7:00 pm Musical Director Gregory Toroian on Piano Skip Ward on Bass David Silliman on Drums Directed by Lina Koutrakos Pangea 178 2nd Ave, NYC 10003, www.pangeanyc.com Tickets online $20: https://cur8.com/18134/project/128001 Tickets at the door $25 (cash only) $20 minimum per person (food or beverage) The house opens at 6:00 pm for food and beverage service.
