Choreographers and Poets Collaborate In Madame's Mashup

Twelve accomplished artists - 6 choreographers and 6 poets - will be randomly paired into two-person teams and asked to create new collaborative works for Madame's Mashups - Choreographers and Poets. The works will premiere February 15 at 9:30pm at The Duplex Cabaret Theater. The event is intended to be the first in a series of "Mashup" shows from Madame Arts Co (Drew Fornarola and Tyler Spicer, co-artistic directors), which also produces the award winning avant-garde variety show Madame's Soiree, now in its third season, and organizes the Denovan Residencies for Cabaret at The Duplex.

The choreographers participating are: Melanie Aceto (Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, University at Buffalo dance faculty), Ali Dietz (Dorrance Dance, Dancers Give Back), Angela Joy (Amore Opera), Matt Pardo (Lucinda Childs Dance Company, Elon University dance faculty), Maxx Reed (Spiderman:Turn Off The Dark, Michael Jackson's This is It), and MiMi Scardulla (Gigantic).

The poets are Kirkwood Adams (Astroecology - Argos Books), Hawa Allan (Essay editor, The Offing, contributing editor, Tricycle Magazine), Marina Blitshteyn (Russian for Lovers - Argos Books), Patrick Swailes Caldwell (PharmaBro), Isaac Fornarola (founder - Flux Weekly), and Crystal Skillman (Geek!, Mary & Max).

The show is hosted by five-time MAC Award nominee Drew Fornarola (off-Broadway's STRAIGHT) and directed by Tyler Spicer.

The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is located at 61 Christopher Street. Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door. There is a two-drink minimum. For tickets please call 212-989-3015, or visit https://www.purplepass.com/index.php#165561 or www.theduplex.com
