The Weinstein Company (TWC) announced the hiring of Dylan Sellers as President of Production and Acquisitions. Sellers' new role is effective immediately. The announcement was made by TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein and COO David Glasser.

The naming of Sellers to this newly created role and the combining of acquisitions and productions is an organic evolution, one which will bolster a healthy staff, as many TWC titles cross over between the two divisions. TWC will continue to produce three to five of its titles annually including this year's SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK and DJANGO UNCHAINED. TWC recently produced critically-acclaimed MY WEEK WITH MARILYN. As President of Production and Acquisitions, Sellers will oversee all efforts of the team as it develops a full slate in 2012. He will be based in Los Angeles and will report to Harvey Weinstein and David Glasser in New York.

Reporting to Sellers from the current TWC production and acquisitions teams are Daniel Guando, SVP of Acquisitions, Negeen Yazdi, VP of Acquisitions and Co-Productions, Julie Rapaport, Director of Production and Business Development, Collin Creighton, Director of Production and Development, Jennifer Malloy, Director of Acquisitions and Co-Productions, Sam Grey, Creative Executive, and Noah Sacco, Creative Executive. Former TWC President of Production Donna Gigliotti will move into a multi-picture producing deal for TWC, and former EVP of Acquisitions and Co-Productions Peter Lawson will move on from the company.

"The Weinstein Company produces and releases the movies I truly love, and I am incredibly excited to work with them and the filmmakers with whom they collaborate. I look forward to adding my own creativity and ideas as one exciting year comes to an end and another begins," said Sellers.

Prior to joining TWC, Sellers produced many films including FOOTLOOSE, the A CINDERELLA STORY franchise, the AGENTCODY BANKS franchise, VALENTINE, THE REPLACEMENTS, OUT TO SEA, BIG BULLY, THE AMAZING PANDA ADVENTURE, THE PAPER, THE MUSIC OF CHANCE, and PASSENGER 57. He previously served as a Senior Production Executive at Warner Brothers' Unique Features and was responsible for heading up the company's West Coast production and development operation.

"Dylan's list of successes speaks for itself. We as a company have a lot in motion and are progressing in a way that allows us to have only the most creative and forward-thinking execs on board, and he is certainly going to add even greater value to an already accomplished team," said Weinstein.

Added Glasser, "Our commitment as a brand to produce high-quality and unique films requires the leadership and talent that Dylan embodies. Few people possess the creative and business experience he has as well as his successes that have resulted from both."

Sellers began his career as an entertainment attorney at O'Melveny & Myers. Born in Los Angeles, he graduated with honors from both University of California at Berkeley and Hastings Law School.
