Stage and screen star Michael C. Hall has Made a major mark on the entertainment realm with his nearly decade-long reign as America's most beloved fictional serial killer (sorry Hannibal) as a part of Showtime's top-rated series DEXTER, but, alas, Dexter is almost dead - or at least the series as we know it is.

Indeed, the eigth season was officially confirmed earlier this week to be DEXTER's last.

Nevertheless, an attention-grabbing new scene has just been released featuring a scene from the eighth and final season of the show showcasing the acting of Hall and co-star Jennifer Carpenter as Dexter's troubled sister, Deb.

Clearly, given the tremendous if grisly cliffhanger of Season Seven, a lot of questions remain left to be answered.

"I shot the wrong person in the trailer," Deb admits.

As in previous seasons, Dexter still stars Hall as a serial killing forensics expert in Florida, based loosely on the DARKLY DREAMING Dexter book series by Jeff Lindsay. In the eighth and final season beginning in June, reportedly Charlotte Rampling will be featured as this season's "big bad" in addition to hosting the return of Yvonne Strahovski as Dexter's love interest/botanist Hannah McKay.

DEXTER's final season premieres June 30 on Showtime.
