Based on Charles Frazier's wildly successful 1997 novel COLD MOUNTAIN (which sold over four million copies and won the National Book Award for fiction) this North Carolina story tells of the long journey homeward of Confederate soldier Inman to his love, Ada.

Since 1986, Guillermo Silva Marin has led aspiring young artists through an intensive 8 week course of study concentrating on character development in opera through text and music. General Director Jonathon Loy and Artistic Director Brian Garman, co-founders of the company, will present this free concert featuring some of opera's greatest arias and ensembles as a prelude to the company's inaugural season in summer 2016. The concert will be headlined by soprano Caroline Worra, tenor Cody Austin, and baritone Kyle Pfortmiller. These three artists perform regularly at opera companies around the country, including The Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, the Glimmerglass Festival, Opera Philadelphia, and Dallas Opera.
