Garland Jeffreys
Thursday, June 15
$22/$25/$28/$32
Garland Jeffreys has been making provocative, personally charged urban rock and roll since the late 1960s. 14 Steps To Harlem, the third album in six years by this "beloved rock-soul-reggae singer-songwriter" (New York Times) is set to release April 28 on his own Luna Park Records. This record delivers what fans have come to expect from Jeffreys: edgy immediacy and literate, emotionally raw lyrics coupled with a still supple voice capable of singing in a practically limitless number of styles.
With a string of critically acclaimed records and radio hits, including "Wild in the Streets," and his cover of the garage rock classic "96 Tears," it's a testament to both the broad appeal and diversity of his music that his songs have been covered by hardcore punk legends The Circle, psych-folkies Vetiver and jazz trumpeter Randy Brecker. Jeffreys is a 2016 Long Island Hall of Fame inductee, a NY Blues Hall of Famer, recipient of the prestigious Schallplattenkritik Prize in Germany and the Tenco and Premio Prizes in Italy. He has also performed at world-class festivals such as Byron Bay Blues, Montreux Jazz, Ottawa Folk and Fuji Rock.

SECOND SHOW ADDED ON JUNE 19: Jean-Luc Ponty - The Atlantic Years
Monday-Tuesday, June 19-20 - Jun. 20 show SOLD OUT
$35/$45/$55/$65
Jean-Luc Ponty is a pioneer and master of violin in the arenas of jazz and rock. He is widely regarded as an innovator who has expanded the vocabulary of modern music. Ponty was born into a family of classical musicians in Avranches, France. At 16, he was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. In turn, he was immediately hired by one of France's major symphony orchestras, Concerts Lamoureux, where he played for three years. While still a member of the orchestra, Ponty picked up a side gig playing for a college jazz band. Fueled by an all-encompassing creative passion, Ponty soon felt the need to express his jazz voice through his main instrument, the violin. He found himself leading a dual musical life: rehearsing and performing with the orchestra while also playing jazz until 3:00 a.m. at clubs throughout Paris. The demands of this schedule eventually brought him to a crossroads. "Naturally, I had to make a choice, so I took a chance with jazz," said Ponty. From the '80s to today Ponty has been recording and touring around the world with his own groups and collaborating with other great musicians. He has performed his music with symphony orchestras in the U.S.A, Canada, Japan, Western and Eastern Europe, Brazil and Russia.

Freddy Jones Band
Thursday, July 6
$32/$35/$38/$42
One of America's premiere roots rock acts, Freddy Jones Band (and no, none of the members are actually named Freddy Jones) was founded by guitarists and singer/songwriters Marty Lloyd and Wayne Healy. The band is best known for its number-one hits "In A Daydream" and "Take The Time." Lloyd said that the recording sessions for the band's most recent album, Never Change, were "euphoric." The FJB lineup is led by Lloyd, joined by bassist Rich Ross (Josh Gracin, Phil Vassar, The Samples), guitarist Dave Preston (Matt Morris, Justin Timberlake) and former Matchbox 20 drummer Ryan MacMillan. Meet & Greet + VIP Sound check tickets are available for $50 and include the opportunity for photos, autographs and a signed poster.

Mac McAnally
Wednesday, July 19
$40/$45/$50/$55
Writer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and all around musical sage Mac McAnally has seen and done it all. He is a member of Jimmy Buffett's backing band, The Coral Reefer Band, has produced for Sawyer Brown and Restless Heart and written several singles for other artists. His songwriting drew the attention of Jimmy Buffett and Hank Williams, Jr., both of whom cut McAnally songs. Now he has a new and energizing album - Live in Muscle Shoals. Recorded live from the Norton Auditorium at the University of North Alabama during the W.C. Handy Music Festival, McAnally put together an incredible band of musicians consisting of fellow Coral Reefers and Muscle Shoals/Nashville session friends in which they captivated the audience. A master storyteller, McAnally introduces each song with anecdotes, describing how the songs came to be and how they have impacted his life. McAnally's wit and love for life and music shine throughout. In 2007, McAnally was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. The following year, the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame followed suit, while the Country Music Association named him Musician of the Year for the last six years in a row.

Rachelle Ferrell
Friday, August 4; 7:00 p.m. & 10:00 p.m.
$50/$55/$65/$75
Rachelle Ferrell is one of the most dynamic talents in contemporary pop music. Very few vocal artists in the industry have her potent combination of range, phrasing and musicianship. Ferrell began singing at the age of six, which many speculate contributed to the development of her multi-octave range. Ferrell first emerged in the states with her R&B debut Rachelle Ferrell (1992), a collection of self-penned originals that featured a striking duet with Will Downing, "Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This." It was with the release of First Instrument in 1994, recorded prior to Rachelle Ferrell, that audiences were really introduced to her jazz sensibilities. In addition to her solo albums, she has sung backup for Lou Rawls, Patti LaBelle, Vanessa Williams and George Duke, and continues to tour as a soloist.

City Winery also announces Darrin Bradbury opens for Hal Ketchum on Apr. 26.

All City Winery events are open to all ages and start at 8 p.m., unless noted.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, March 23 at noon. Only members of City Winery Chicago's signature VinoFile™ program have access to ticket sales today in addition to receiving: a waiver of ticket service fees; free valet parking; Restaurant Loyalty Rewards, such as a free pair of VIP concert tickets for every $500 spent on food & beverage in the restaurant; exclusive membership-only events; and access to the proprietary City Winery Virtual Sommelier™, which helps make suggestions for wines one might enjoy based on past consumption at the venue.
