Around the world, September 13 is recognized as National Caipirinha Day, a chance to celebrate the recipe featuring cachaça, Brazil's most popular spirit. Texas de Brazil Churrascaria locations nationwide* will toast the holiday by offering $5 house caipirinhas all day long on Thursday, September 13. With just three simple ingredients cachaça, lime, and sugar this tangy, refreshing drink can be enjoyed in the lounge or dining room and is available in a variety of flavors.

"The caipirinha is Brazil's national cocktail and a refreshing complement to our marbled meats such as picanha and flank steak," says Rodrigo Davila, director of wine and spirits for the family-owned Brazilian-American steakhouse brand. "It is a favorite drink at our restaurants across America and we embrace this opportunity to toast the culture of Southern Brazil and the generous hospitality of Texas," he adds.

Cachaça is made by distilling freshly pressed sugarcane juice and pre-dates rum by hundreds of years. A classic Brazilian caipirinha is a refreshing blend of lime, simple syrup, and cachaça, and guests can also choose additional flavors including Strawberry, Mango, Coconut and Passion Fruit.

Those dining will begin their experience at an enticing 50-item salad area filled with freshly made dishes, both hot and cold including favorites such as steamed asparagus with marmalade sauce, Brazilian hearts of palm, shrimp salad, sushi, sautéed mushrooms, feijoada (black beans) and jasmine rice, Moqueca (Brazilian Coconut Fish Stew), lobster bisque and much more.

The full rodizio-style menu also features mouthwatering meats cooked the authentic Brazilian gaucho way over open flame using natural wood charcoal resulting in deeper, more intense flavor and just the right amount of smokiness. Tempting selections served by tableside by costumed gauchos include tender lamb chops, leg of lamb, picanha (sirloin), filet mignon, chicken breasts wrapped in bacon, Brazilian sausages and more. Guests pace the meat service with a simple flip of a two-sided red and green disc; green indicating when additional servings are welcome while red indicates a break is needed. The appealing menu offers something to please everyone at the table.
