On March 18, 2015, I had the opportunity to see the dress rehearsal of Ailey II's program A at the Joyce Theater. This young company, under Troy Powell, Artistic Director, since July 1, 2012, only the 2nd director since this group was formed in 1974, was energized and fully loaded.

In the leading roles are Svetlana Zakharova, Denis Rodkin and Artemy Belyakov. Swan Lake depicts the tragic love between Princess Odette and Prince Siegfried.
American Repertory Ballet Hosts Annual Gala Tonight

Tonight, March 21, 2015, American Repertory Ballet will hold its annual Gala performance and reception, The Dream, in downtown New Brunswick, NJ. The performance will begin at 6:00pm at Crossroads Theater, and the reception will begin at 7:00pm across the street at the Heldrich Hotel. The reception will include a gourmet dinner, dancing to the music of The Kenny i Orchestra, auctions, and more. Free valet parking will be provided. Princeton Ballet School students ages 12-18 years can enjoy a Junior Gala party with dinner, dancing and silent auction, also at the Heldrich Hotel.

CHICAGO – Following its highly praised Unique Voices triple bill, The Joffrey Ballet closes its 2014-2015season celebrating 20 years in Chicago with “New Works,” a mixed repertory program featuring two Joffrey/Chicago Premieres -- In Creases by New York City Ballet resident choreographer and soloist Justin Peck and Liturgy by Christopher Wheeldon -- along with the U.S. premiere of Evenfall from the Joffrey's own ballet master Nicolas Blanc and the return of Incantations by Val Caniparoli. The Joffrey Ballet presents “New Works” in ten performances only April 22-May 3, 2015.
