University of North Carolina at Wilmington's (UNCW) Department of Music faculty will share the spotlight with appearances by John Rack, timpani, Robert Nathanson, guitar, Barry David Salwen, piano, Pawel Izdebski, bass, Nancy King, soprano and Distinguished Professor and jazz legend Joe Chambers, drum set. The Wilmington Symphony's Beethoven symphony cycle continues with the joyful and elegant Symphony No. 8.

The Lincoln Center Orchestra is seen during a rehearsal in Havana October 4, 2010. U.S. jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and his Jazz at Lincoln Center orchestra will play concerts in Cuba this week with what he said on Monday was a simple goal -- to bring people together through music. The New York-based jazz orchestra, making its first trip to the communist-led island, is set to play concerts Tuesday through Saturday and give classes to young Cuban musicians.

The Inland Valley Symphony, Anthony Parnther, Music Director and Conductor, will present "ALL BRAHMS," a concert of the music of Romantic composer, Johannes Brahms featuring renowned Guest Artists, Russian cellist, Ruslan Biryukov, and award-winning violinist, Danielle Belen, performing the rarely heard "Double Concerto For Violin and Cello, Op. 102." Other works to be performed on the program include: "Tragic Overture, Op. 81" and "Symphony in F major, Op. 90." Two performances of the same concert will be given in various Southland locations.
