The event will take place on the school's campus in the Library Atrium. Admission is free and all families from any branch of the U.S. military are invited to attend. Launched on April 8, this is the first in a series of picture books by Craig which focus on various characters/events in the Bible. After a public reading of the book, Craig will be signing copies that will be available for purchase at the venue. A native Texan, Craig is a graduate of Howard Payne University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has worked in music & worship ministries for over forty years in Texas, Georgia and Virginia. Much of that time involved ministering to children. From his years of ministry in local churches, Craig has developed a unique way of retelling the Bible's ancient stories that appeal to kids today. He now enjoys time with his two granddaughters who serve as inspiration for much of his writings.

Lexington, KY—University Press of Kentucky author John van Willigen has been recognized by the the Southern Anthropological Society for Kentucky's Cookbook Heritage: Two Hundred Years of Southern Cuisine and Culture. The book was awarded an Honorable Mention for the James Mooney Award for its contribution to anthropological scholarship on the South and Southerners. The Mooney Award was created to recognize and encourage distinguished anthropological scholarship on the South and Southerners. Presented annually, the award includes a $500 cash prize and certificate of recognition to be presented to the winning author at an awards ceremony. In addition, an Honorable Mention Award includes a certificate of recognition.
