Mark Maronde, a passionate and devoted author, has completed his new book "A Carnival of Souls": a gripping and exhilarating fight for survival. How will these seven strangers survive and what will they run into?

Mark has been writing in a variety of genres since his first creative writing class at O'Fallon Township High School in southern Illinois, 1979. When he is not busy writing, Mark is a tireless advocate for the needs of those suffering from mental health issues to have cuts in their services restored to proper levels, after draconian cuts by three previous Illinois state governments' administrations. He has published articles regarding this serious health issue in a number of newspapers since 2009. Mark's other hobbies include watching the Chicago Cubs, studying U.S. History Since WW II, & entertaining friends as the area's only known Ringo Starr impersonator. Inspiration for "A Carnival of Souls" came from a WW II veteran of the U.S. Army, Robert Pierpoint, who mentored Mark during his teenage years. Other WW II veterans who have influenced Mark include: Robert Batt, Lloyd Hoff, & Delbert Spitz.

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Mark Maronde's thrilling tale will take the reader on a journey that will have them fighting for survival with every page turn.

A Carnival of Souls relates the trials and tribulations of seven individuals of very different walks of life who are trying to make it to a perceived safe haven following an apocalyptic collapse of society. Freedom once taken for granted is now a distant memory, and the fight for survival becomes an everyday occurrence!

Readers who wish to experience this chilling work can purchase "A Carnival of Souls" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
