Obviously, it has been a daunting task to study the history of various portions of the Apocrypha or Antilegomena. Many Christian churches which grew out of their local lineages have had their own enriched-by-experience writings that were a clear testimony to the power of God to overcome evil. The Catholic Church was, at the start, the only one with enough strength and military manpower to call up the many councils that eventually fashioned what Platter knows to be the watered-down, depleted and much-edited Bible books that are known today. They even cursed those who looked at the old manuscripts they had not named as valid prophetic writings of scripture.
