Children can learn how maple seeds transform from tiny, winged fruits to tall trees with Next Time You See a Maple Seed, a new book from NSTA Kids. The book explains what makes the seeds swirl through the air, what's inside their round ends, and how they grow.

Full of vivid photographs and printed in a large, glossy format, the book is especially designed to be experienced with an adult-whether a parent, teacher, or friend. It's part of the Next Time You See series, which is intended to inspire children in grades K-6 to experience the enchantment of everyday phenomena. NSTA Kids, a division of NSTA Press, offers books that supplement science learning while encouraging children to become avid readers.

The author of the Next Time You See series is Emily Morgan, an educator who knows how to connect with children both intellectually and emotionally. A former elementary and middle school teacher, she is a coauthor of the Picture-Perfect Science series and the "Teaching Through Trade Books" column in Science and Children, NSTA's elementary-level journal.
