What’s on the menu for Meredith, Tori, and Sandy, the three women in Guy’s life? Healthy lifestyles, upward mobility, meaningful sex? Or self-loathing and distorted priorities? Inspired by the strangely ubiquitous advertising trend of picturing attractive women blissfully eating salad, award-winning playwright Sheila Callaghan breaks all the rules of our image-obsessed culture in Women Laughing Alone With Salad. This raw comedy is served with a side of feminism and tossed with audacious imagery, biting social critique, and devastating humor.

Cast

Madeline Allard-Dugan

Tori
Born and bred in rural Corning, NY, Madeline came to Buffalo to attend Buffalo State University in 2014. She graduated in 2018 with a B.A. in Television and Film Arts and Dance. Past credits include HAMLET (Brazen-Faced Varlets), THE TEMPEST (Irish Classical Theatre), OVERLAY/RESET (First Look Buffalo Theatre Company), FACTORY FOR MURDERERS and CHRISTMAS CAROL (Alleyway Theatre), NATIVE SON and SIDEWALK STAGEPLAY (Paul Robeson Theater at the African American Cultural Center). Madeline is very active in the dance community and was also a part of Comedy Sportz for two years. She'd like to thank her family, her friends, and her husband, Trev.

Alyssa Walsh-Morris

Sandy
Alyssa is thrilled to be a part of this talented ensemble. Last seen with the Brazen-Faced Varlets as Queen Gertrude in HAMLET, other notable roles include Carey in ANTON IN SHOW BUSINESS (Brazen-Faced Varlets) in May of 2022, Kate in BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS (Rocking Horse Productions), for which she was nominated for Best Actor in a role by BroadwayWorld Buffalo in 2023. Alyssa also performed for The Subversive Theatre Collective in the 2022 MIRACLE IN LEVITTOWN (Maureen), and before that with Rocking Horse Productions for one night as Gwendolyn Pigeon in ODD COUPLE before the show closed due to COVID. Some of her favorite roles include M’Lynn in STEEL MAGNOLIAS (Springville Center for the Arts), Nurse Ratched in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST (Rocking Horse Productions), and Penny in YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU (Lancaster Regional Theatre). Other projects include various roles in Buffalo Writers' Theater spring productions (2019, 2024), and directing SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER: VOICES FROM BEYOND THE DARK, by Ariel Dorfman, in conjunction with RFK Human Rights (2018). By day, Alyssa works for Hurwitz Fine as a Legal Assistant, and lives in Williamsville with her husband, Dan Morris and their blended family.

Emily Yancey

Meredith
Emily is downright giddy over being a part of this positively insane production! An honest lover of both salad and cake, and superfan of anything absurd, she is eager to be joining forces with the team to cleverly expose inane beauty standards and predatory marketing as the divisive monstrosities they are. Career Artie recognitions include: THE (CURIOUS CASE OF THE) WATSON INTELLIGENCE (Eliza) Road Less Traveled Productions: Nominee – Outstanding Leading Actress, Play; DISASTER! (Sister Downy) MusicalFare Theatre: Winner – Outstanding Musical Ensemble & Nominee – Outstanding Featured Role Performance; 1776 (Rutledge) O'Connell & Company: Winner – Outstanding Musical Ensemble & Nominee – Outstanding Supporting Actress, Musical; KILLER RACK (Betty Downer) Alleyway Theatre: Nominee – Outstanding Leading Actress, Musical; FACTORY FOR MURDERERS (Kate/Perlman) Alleyway Theatre: Nominee – Outstanding Supporting Actress, Play. Emily also performed the title-role in the PBS-televised opera SUSANNAH, produced by WNED PBS & Buffalo Opera Unlimited. BA Vocal Performance, BS Biology/Psychology, Canisius University. www.eyancey.com. 93/93.

Andrew J. Brown

Guy
Andrew is thrilled to return to the Alleyway Mainstage with Post-Industrial this season. He has attained his A.S in Theatre Arts at SUNY Niagara. Some of his credits include: HELLO, DOLLY (Ensemble) w/ Starring Buffalo, I F*CKED YOU IN MY SPACESHIP (Leo) w/ Buffalo United Artists, BRACE FOR IMPACT (Brad) w/ Bellissima Productions, A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Fred) w/ Alleyway Theatre and SECRET SOLDIERS: HEROINES IN DESGUISE (Private Perry/ Major Davis) w/ Theatre of Youth.
