The Legend of Georgia McBride is a glittering, laugh-out-loud celebration of chosen family, drag performance and music, packed with outrageous comedy, electrifying performances and unforgettable theatrical flair. Featuring iconic numbers inspired by music legends ranging from Elvis Presley and Bette Midler to Édith Piaf, Mariah Carey and Dolly Parton, this high-energy hit play brings audiences into a joyful, feel-good world of sequins, sass and showstopping talent.

Broadway’s Michael Wartella takes on the role of Casey, a down-on-his-luck Elvis impersonator whose life is turned upside down when he unexpectedly finds himself stepping into the fabulous world of drag performance. What begins as a last-ditch paycheck quickly becomes a heartfelt and hilarious journey into confidence, self-expression and the transformative power of stepping fully into the spotlight. Along the way, Casey discovers an unforgettable community of performers who challenge him, support him and help him find his own voice beneath the wigs, heels and rhinestones.

Joining Wartella as the incomparable Miss Tracy Mills is Broadway veteran Kyle Taylor Parker, who made his Broadway debut in the original company of the Tony Award-winning Kinky Boots before starring as Lola in the musical’s First National Tour and later taking over the role on Broadway. Parker also originated the role of Mrs. Green in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Broadway and has appeared in Smokey Joe’s Café and Finian’s Rainbow Off-Broadway, as well as NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert. He joins Emilie Kouatchou as well as BTG favorites David Adkins and Shayne Haley in bringing wit, heart and larger-than-life personalities to this exuberant production.

Directed and choreographed by Isadora Wolfe, whose acclaimed BTG production of Metamorphoses captivated audiences last season, this vibrant production combines dynamic physical storytelling with emotional warmth and infectious energy. An Artistic Associate for Punchdrunk (UK) and former Associate Artistic Director and Resident Director for the New York production of Sleep No More, Wolfe brings a distinctive theatrical vision perfectly suited to the exuberance and heart of Matthew López’s beloved comedy.
