The Carp at Villa I Tatti, Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies

The Italian premiere of composer Martin Brody's chamber operetta The Carp, with a libretto by art historian Dario Gamboni, based on a 2003 news story of a carp said to have spoken before its slaughter at a fish market. The performance returns the work to Villa I Tatti, where Brody wrote it during his residency as Fellow in Residence. The same cast and ensemble from the Boston premiere perform, conducted by Stratis Minakakis.
