I'm planning to get tickets for SP when I go to NYC, also. But I'm a bit torn about WHICH (my wallet can only include 3 shows, max)other show will be worth seeing in Bway (I get a good selection of Bway shows touring where I live).
PASSING STRANGE and if you're going for a play August: OC, or The 39 Steps
"Picture "The View," with the wisecracking, sympathetic sweethearts of that ABC television show replaced by a panel of embittered, suffering or enraged Arab women" -the Times review of Black Eyed
Spring Awakening. And - don't pay any notice to the fact that the Tonys ignored the show because it's brilliant - A Catered Affair.
THEATRE 2020: CURTAINS**** LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE GIRLS***** WICKED***** KEITH RAMSAY TAKING NOTES WITH EDWARD SECKERSON***** KAYLEIGH MCKNIGHT CONCERT***** RAGS***** ON MCQUILLAN'S HILL** DEAR EVAN HANSEN***** THE JURY***
I would recommend Xanadu & Passing Strange. You can get cheap tix, if you join TDF specially if youre a student. $35.00 @~ most likely you will be getting a Orchestra seats and hey these two shows are nominated for TONYS Best New Musical.
I definitely wont pass on this two, and my top 2 favorite new musical this season!
Definitely In the Heights!! you can also get some pretty sweet discounts for that show.
Other shows worth seeing would be Gypsy, Rent (if you havent seen it or would like to see it one last time before it closes on broadway), Xanadu if you're in the mood of short and silly, Hairspray, jersey Boys and Legally Blonde.
<-- Gwen Stewart, SOLoist at the last show of RENT Cages or wings?
