re: You Know It's Community Theatre When...  May 22 2009, 08:19:41 PM
I don't know if this has been posted on here, and I know this is a thread to poke fun at community theaters, however this theater group needs your prayers. This was on the news a while back. 3 members of this theater were shot and killed. Please send your support!

re: Planning a NY trip  May 20 2009, 09:07:49 PM
I've already seen In The Heights with Lin-Manuel. Also, I've heard not such good things about Guys and Dolls. How is Rock of Ages doing?

re: Planning a NY trip  May 20 2009, 01:05:12 AM
The only shows currently on broadway that I've seen are In The Heights and Avenue Q. I wanted to make an appearance to see Sutton Foster since I've seen her last two shows and am a pretty big fan. I wouldn't mind seeing West Side Story but will probably take a pass on 9 to 5.

Planning a NY trip  May 19 2009, 10:42:36 PM
I'm planning a NY trip in July and I've been kind of out of the Broadway world for a little bit. I've been reading on here a little bit lately though and wanted to know if this show line up sounds like a good one (keep in mind I can only make it up to NY about once a year at the MOST)

Billy Elliot
August: Osage County
Next to Normal

Also, I was planning on buying tickets for August at TKTS since it doesn't seem to be selling out. Are there any other

re: I stand-by my comments on GLEE  May 19 2009, 09:55:17 PM
I feel like I'm watching an over confident Wendla on the screen and it's scaring me. But the show isn't all that bad.

Here's my video :)

re: Who was the nicest Broadway actor or actress you met?  Jul 26 2008, 03:02:03 AM
Norm Lewis, the entire Spring Awakening cast (well most...), The In The Heights cast and Danny Burstein. Oh and Beth Leavel of course.

re: Norm Lewis's Solo Album?  Jul 20 2008, 08:58:56 PM
I know he's been working on it and was expecting a July release. I don't think it's out yet though.

re: The Drowsy Chaperone tour...  Jul 11 2008, 09:33:43 PM
The tour cast is great! I saw the original company and the only character I really felt wasn't as good as the original was Janet. It's hard to compare to Sutton. But the tour is GREAT.

Those pictures sure are...different. Not sure if I like it.

re: irritating voices  Jun 30 2008, 02:28:07 AM
Adam Pascal, at least in Aida. And I'm not a fan of nathan lane's either.

re: The Ultimate Cast  Jun 22 2008, 05:26:37 PM
The upcoming cast of Shrek? Not the show, but the cast.

re: Most Uncomfortable Theatre Moments with your parents  Jun 20 2008, 04:10:35 PM
I sat on stage with my mom and step dad for SA...and yes it was awkward. Though not as bad as I thought it would be.

re: ITH's 96K = rip off of Black Star/Mos Def  Jun 17 2008, 05:26:56 PM
I read this whole thread and still don't really know what the purpose is...

We have people saying ITH is like now no one can write a show set in a NYC neighborhood. Oh wait, Avenue Q is like Rent which would mean ITH is like Avenue Q.

And seriously, Lin isn't stealing other peoples music. He (as does EVERY writer) has inspirations. He even gives reference to Cole Porter (Give him some credit!). So what if his music resembles some of his inspirations? Every song

re: Songs you love in shows you hate...  Jun 13 2008, 04:53:16 PM
I love Just a little upset from Cry-Baby..but god I hate that show.

re: 1 more please.  Jun 13 2008, 01:41:27 AM
I'd say Avenue Q cause I know Sutton wont be in YF anymore and not sure about anyone else. But both are wonderful shows. Great line up!

re: Will Esparza win for the Homecoming.  Jun 7 2008, 03:39:54 PM
Raul may not be the most deserving this year but last year sure was a heartbreaker and I hope that soon he finds another role like Bobby.

re: Tony Performances  Jun 6 2008, 05:14:03 PM
I'm excited. I wish Little Mermaid had been up for Best Musical instead of Cry-Baby so their performance could have been justified.

re: The Official 'In The Heights' Love Thread....  May 28 2008, 02:21:45 PM
I'm sure this has been pointed out already but anyone notice how Benny's mic changes a lot in the video of 96,000?

re: Best other show to see  May 27 2008, 06:02:13 PM
