Was "Full Monty" a flop? I recall it getting good reviews.

"I've lost everything! Luis, Marty, my baby with Chris, Chris himself, James. All I ever wanted was love." --Sheridan Crane "Passions" ------- "Housework is like bad sex. Every time I do it, I swear I'll never do it again til the next time company comes."--"Lulu" from "Can't Stop The Music" ----- "When the right doors didn't open for him, he went through the wrong ones" - "Sweet Bird of Youth" ------------ --------- "Passions" is uncancelled! See NBC.com for more info.

The Full Monty recouped and the Odd Couple was a HUGE hit.

The word "flop" only has to do with lack of financial success -- not critical.

Lets talk about a real flop:

The Look of Love 2003

Burt Bacharach's song book choreographed Fosse style by Anne Reinking. There was a version of "What's New Pussycat" done a la "Mein Herr". Capathia Jenkins did a wonderful rendiditon of "Are You There (With Another Girl). The critics compared it to a cruise ship entertainment, and it closed two months after its first preview. I loved every second of it.

The Scarlet Pimpernel - I thought it was a lot of fun - great theater? no, probably not - but, a lot of fun anyway.

Caroline, Or Change definetly did NOT recoup and therefore qualifies as my number 1 favorite flop, followed by Taboo.

GOLDILOCKS(1958--with Elaine Stritch) It has a great score by Leroy Anderson and wonderful dances by Agnes DeMille.

BAJOUR(1964--with Chita Rivera and Nancy Dussault). Michael Bennett was a gypsy dancer in the chorus in this musical about real life Gypsies in NYC.

THE GIRL WHO CAME TO SUPPER(1963--with Florence Henderson and Jose Ferrer) Noel Coward's last show. Henderson was radiant and had some great numbers to show off her superb singing. She was nothing like her character on T.V.'s The Brady Bunch. The first act ended with Tessie O'Shea bringing down the house with her medley of London songs. I saw the complete show many times and second acted it 6 times during my drinking days!

"Madam Rose...and her daughter...Gypsy!"
