- Idina on Defying Gravity - In Electricity from Billy Elliot, there's this background vocals that really annoy me. - The loud bits in the beginning of Sunday. - the "POP" in Castle on the Cloud from TACR of Les Mis
"Hey, you! You're the worst thing to happen to musical theatre since Andrew Lloyd Webber!"
-Family Guy
*in "Big Girls Dont Cry" on the JERSEY BOYS cd, when JLY goes "cry-yie-yie" there is some little high-pitched squeak the bugs me so much! *on the ALL SHOOK UP, cd, there are many moments...
In the Original Broadway Cast recording of Chess, during The American and Florence/Nobody's Side, the way he sings "I'm only teasing Soviets with gentle Bonhomie, and you've a better reason to be anti-them than me" is way too quiet. You can barely hear what he's saying and it frustrates the hell out of me.
"Blood on the Pavement" at the end of the "Hairspray" CD.
"I've lost everything! Luis, Marty, my baby with Chris, Chris himself, James. All I ever wanted was love." --Sheridan Crane "Passions"

"Housework is like bad sex. Every time I do it, I swear I'll never do it again til the next time company comes."--"Lulu"
from "Can't Stop The Music"
-----
"When the right doors didn't open for him, he went through the wrong ones" - "Sweet Bird of Youth"

"Passions" is uncancelled! See NBC.com for more info.
I agree, BNN! That last note of the Finale in Wicked is fugly!
Into the Woods Revival Recording - During "Agony", when they sing "I must have her to wife..." at the end, Gregg Edelmann and Christopher Sieber belt "wife". I liked it better when Chuck Wagner and R.West. sang it in their falsetto.
Sweeney Todd Revival Recording - "My Friends", when Patti sings "You've come HOME!" "My Friends" is not a song you should belt on if you're playing Mrs. Lovett.
The fact that MJW is completely not in synch with the music during "You Can't Stop The Beat" on the Hairspray recording, I'm really surprised no one's ever mentioned that before and just about everything about the Footloose OCR makes me nuts.
I am NOT a fan of the song Castle on a Cloud, but the lyric would be even worse if the lyric were flipped to rhyme:
There is a room that's full of toys There are a hundred girls and boys
Where do you go musically from there? The words don't sit on the music properly. Additionally, none of the verses rhyme those two lines -- they're all:
A B C C
such as:
"There is a castle on a cloud, I like to go there in my sleep"
"There is a lady all in white, Holds me and sings a lullaby"
"In theater, the process of it is the experience. Everyone goes through the process, and everyone has the experience together. It doesn't last - only in people's memories and in their hearts. That's the beauty and sadness of it. But that's life - beauty and the sadness. And that is why theater is life." - Sherie Rene Scott
On the Company OCR, very end of the first song- On the final "loooooooove," someone tries to man-belt the high note and goes so completely flat. He eventually realizes it and drops out, but it drives me nuts.
I love Wicked and I've listened to the cast recording many times but there is and audiable breath from Idina just before 'and if I'm flying solo'...I love the woman in the part but it's annoying (think that's the first bad thing I've said about her.....)
bwayondabrain, I've noticed that squeak too. It's so random! It's one of those quirks where once you notice it, you listen for it every time. Definitely drives me crazy.
"The world is a better place because of hairspray." - Michael Ball
