Name 10 of your favorite Broadway shows
1. A Chorus Line
2. Into the Woods
3. Les Miserables
4. Follies
5. Sweeney Todd
6. Hair
7. Spring Awakening
8. South Pacific
9. Evita
10. Company

Have you ever seen these shows live? If so, where?

All but the last two, most on Broadway. Into the Woods on DVD, Sweeney Todd both DVDs and the Doyle revival. Les Mis my high school's production, which (considering our Valjean) was fantastic, as well as the concert DVD. Follies at Encores! and Hair this fall at NYU's Tisch mainstage production.

What's your favorite song from play 2?
Oh, gosh. I love them all, but I think I have to go with "Giants in the Sky." It's such a perfect song, in my opinion. Runner-up goes to "No One Is Alone," which I've never been able to listen to without at least tearing up.

Who's your favorite character from play 4?
Either Phyllis or Carlotta. Phyllis because she's a total ice bitch, but really she's the only one of the four principals who isn't morally reprehensible. Carlotta because... she's a total ice bitch, but, well... she's still HEEEEEEERE!

What's your favorite scene from play 5?
Hmmm. Either the opening (when everyone comes in on that "SWING your razor wide," there's just nothing better) or "God That's Good."

What's your favorite lyric from play 8?
"I could say life is just a bowl of Jello/And appear more intelligent and smart/But I'm stuck like a dope/With a thing called hope/And I can't get it out of my heart!"

From play 10, which character are you most like?
Definitely Joanne.

Can you quote every line from play 1?
No, actually. I know most of the lyrics, but I'm hopeless with the book. I'll never be Paul *tear*

How many times have you seen play 3?
Live, once. The DVD... oh, gosh. Over and over and over again.

If you could be anyone from play 6, who would it be? Why?
Hmm... I guess Claude. Although Berger would crazy fun, too.

What's your favorite song from play 7?
Probably "The Song of Purple Summer"

2. A Raisin in the Sun
3. The Light in the Piazza
4. West Side Story
5. Journey's End
6. Spring Awakening
7. Into the Woods
8. Porgy and Bess
9. Fences
10. Caroline or Change

Have you ever seen these shows live? If so, where?

I've seen them all with the exception of Porgy and Bess. I've only seen 'Light in the Piazza', 'Journey's End', and 'Spring Awakening' on Broadway. The rest I have either seen at regional theatres or National tours.

What's your favorite song from play 2?

Well, my #2 is a play, so I will give you my favorite scene. It's the last scene when Lena makes Walter Lee explain to his son why they can't move to their new home. Gets me every time.

Who's your favorite character from play 4?

Probably Anita.

What's your favorite scene from play 5?

The scene at the end of Act I, when Stanhope makes Osborne read the letter that Raleigh wrote home in fear that he had written some nasty things about him. (Powerful and heartbreaking at the same time)

What's your favorite lyric from play 8?

"From this minute I'm telling you, I keeps this vow, Oh my Bessy. We's happy now. We is one now." (The greatest duet in all of theatre)

Can you quote every line from play 1?

Not anymore. When I was doing it I could have. But I can always sing every song.

How many times have you seen play 3?

Twice on Broadway. Once before the Tony's with the original cast, which is one of my most memorable moments in the theatre, and then once after Aaron Lazar and Katie Clarke had taken over. Didn't match up to the first, but it was still a wonderful experience.

If you could be anyone from play 6, who would it be? Why?

This is tough, I don't think I want to be anyone in this play, but I think it's a great piece of theatre. If you were holding a gun to my head, although it's not physically possible I would say Ilse because she gets to sing 'Blue Wind' one of the best songs in the show.

What's your favorite song from play 7?

That's tough. I think it's 'On the Steps of the Palace'

Theatre and film are two different mediums, and shows that are written for the theatre almost never transfer as well to the screen. With a few exceptions of course.

The Producers or RENT - RENT
Wicked or Chicago - Chicago
Fiddler on the Roof or Oklahoma - Fiddler on the Roof
Thoroughly Modern Millie or 42nd Street - Haven't seen either

Q:What advice do you have for aspiring Broadway stars who are terminally shy? I love your work, because you seem so bold. How do you do it? A:"I think I take more chances on stage then I do in real life but you can't learn anything if you don't challenge yourself. And don't say "terminally". If you love to perform then you have no choice, just keep training and focus on the words or the music whenever you find yourself slipping back inside yourself.
