She needs to chill out a little. People break rules all the time. That does not mean it is right; but it happens nonetheless. Patti is extremely sensitive to this issue (good on ya, Patti) but she seems to be taking unnecessary measures (peering out of curtains, refusing to return to the stage...) She is allowing it to interfere with her craft.
re: Best Schools to Pursue Musical Theatre Writing? Jun 10

Thanks everyone. This advice is invaluable to me. I will be getting a BMUS in composition; but I am equally interested in pursuing English/drama/history. It is all worthwhile education. Cross your fingers for me - hopefully I'll have a show on the great white way sometime in the not so distant future.
Everyone else, thanks for your input. I agree with what you are saying. However, I hope you can understand why I would want to select a school that offers training in the specific field I am interested in. A general music composition, though very valuable to me, is quite broad. I am confident enough to write musical theatre with my own skillset, but isn't it valid to want to get as much education as possible in the area of one's interest? <
The Bells Of St. Sebastian - Nine - the entire song, but especially "... and the muuuuuuusic of the ringing, was a different world that opened through our singing...." etc
Anybody familiar? How great is that song?

Hi everyone, I have just arrived home from a wonderful, week-long trip to NYC. I saw some amazing shows, ate some fantastic food, and had the time of my life. What a city! I hope to be living there within the next couple of years, but in the meantime my parents and I visit annually. I soaked in a lot of theatre (Les Miserables, Deuce, Grey Gardens, Company, Spring Awakening, 110 In The Shade, and Curtains) and I am glad to share my reviews!

Lizzie, this probably isn't my place to say anything, but you are really out of line. This board should not be a place to attack people, but rather to help people and share information. Do you agree? I don't think the creator of this thread was being indolent by asking for our help, having already brainstormed on her own. Here are my suggestions:
