Someone on the Illinoise review thread stated that a cast member confirmed they were indeed recording a cast album, but there was no specific recording date given. Since it just opened last week, I would assume it could be this week or next.
I can't imagine Hell's Kitchen won't get a cast recording, and I'm guessing Heart of Rock and Roll will probably get one.
I'm guessing that aside from the shows that have pre-transfer equivalent albums (Cabaret, Here Lies Love, BTTF) the only major musical this season that won't be getting a cast recording is Spamalot - unless there are plans for that one we aren't party to, of course.

Heart of Rock and Roll recorded their album in March.
Reports of Tommy being in the recording studio have been released.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

It's very clear. Their instagram account says they were recording promo tracks and Tommy doesn't sing "Pinball Wizard" except for the reprise and they weren't recording the reprise.

From a rights/royalties perspective, I wonder if the producers are still in negotiations with the band's business arm (or whoever controls The Who's catalog...) I hope something gets worked out because I really want a recording with the updated orchestrations. Parts of the OBC instrumentation really bug me...
