According to Michael himself, link, he fell into the orchestra pit and conductor during this past Saturdays matinee performance. This is surly something you only hear about in your theatre nightmares, right? I couldn't even imagine. I hope the conductor is okay, as well.
I’m kind of surprised this doesn’t happen more often at wicked; Elphaba seems always be running towards the edge of the stage which is also raked.
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

Many actors at WICKED have fallen into the orchestra pit (most notably Shoshana Bean). That’s why there is a mesh covering over the orchestra pit to catch anyone from falling into the pit.
This reminds me of when I went to see Dreamgirls. In the 2nd Act opener there are several sliding glass staircases that Deena and the Dreams have to navigate - while they are moving!
My heart was in my throat every time. There is a section where Sheryl and the girls come down the staircase together then go back up, then Sheryl alone has to run down those stairs and when she hits the stage go around the background dancers and then go back up those stairs all while the stairs are moving!
Every time I saw it I was praying, “Please don’t fall! Please don’t fall!”

Happened to Lisa Kirk in out-of-town tryouts for Allegro.
