She's starting tonight, too!

Where's the love for Feldshuh???

Maybe the wags on this site are hoping she'll be an even BIGGER DIVA than Lea!

Can't WAIT!!!

Can report at intermission now that she is in a different class than Jane was. She embodies the role. Truly turning in fantastic work so far.

I am sure she is very good in the role. After all she was the original stage Yentl. I saw Liz McCartney and Julie last month and Liz was so good in the role as well.

Star power. Can't imagine her being anything other than great.

I love Tovah - I’ve loved her ever since I saw her i. the NBC TV miniseries, “Holocaust”. I also loved her in another NBC TV miniseries: “Beggarman, Tbief” where she played a diplomatic woman who seduced Andrew Stevens and wound up being an international terrorist. So what is your point?

I love Tovah but why does she have a glamour shot on the Funny Girl doors? Has she abandoned the Lands End sweater worn by Jane?

Very safe to assume it's contractual - when one of the above-the-title names is featured, it triggers all of them. Regardless of legalities, why would one of the 3 star-billed actors of the show not be included?

Editing this because I'm realizing perhaps you were questioning the styling of her photo - it matches that of the new photo of Lea they put up - and presumably Ramin (though I didn't see his).

Tovah was a star tonight. Had us in the palm of her hands. Truly a gift to see that woman act on a Broadway stage.

I wasn’t implying she didn’t deserve a door. She does!!! It just doesn’t look like she’s in character. Aren’t folks usually in character for publicity?

Haha - I realized that's what you meant at the same second you posted this. Lea's door photo is that new "huge yellow rose hat" photo which isn't even in the show - so I think they went for slick glamour for this photo shoot and not so much with the production photos. Front of House imagery is totally an artistic choice of the art director and show, so they went a different route than we usually see (though not the first time - Boys in the Band also had a glamour shoot that wasn't reflective of character or costume).

Caught her tonight, and what can I say? She WAS Rosie Brice.

Gone is the nudge-nudge, wink-wink of Jane Lynch.  Tovah is offering a thoughtful and grounded performance in which the comedy springs from the fact that she's taking the role as seriously as the grave.

An excellent performance.

A glamorous star deserves a glamour shot!  It's a very satisfying moment when two of the worst miscasts in Broadway memory have finally been rectified; and she brings a much-needed warmth to a pivotal role in this production.

I will join in on the Tovah praise.  As someone who did not think Jane Lynch’s turn as Rose Bryce left much of an impression at all, I found Tovah to be an absolute standout last night. I was shocked how much the character really popped, and that’s very much a testament to her great talent.  Really is perfect casting!

I also loved Tovah in "Holocaust"! That was the first time I ever saw her and heard of her. I was only 13,but she's such a fine actress that she made quite an impression!

Michele isn’t the only newcomer providing fresh air: Tovah Feldshuh is a gem as Mrs. Brice, a tiny ball of grit and fire and maternal devotion that makes clear just exactly where Fanny got her gumption and talent. Feldshuh, in ways that the woefully miscast Jane Lynch wasn’t, is entirely credible as the old-school saloon hoofer of yore who raised her very funny girl to survive in the world of show-biz and the world at large.

'Funny Girl' Star Tovah Feldshuh on Sharing the Stage With Lea Michele and What the Talmud Says About Gossip
Theater veteran Tovah Feldshuh has performed in 10 Broadway shows over the last five decades, garnering acclaim and Tony Awards love for “Yentl” and “Golda’s Balcony,” among others. But there’s a unique thrill to her current role on stage, as the endearing mother of Lea Michele’s Fanny Brice in “Funny Girl.”

I thought she did a good job as did Peter Francis James, but considering their very impressive careers, it seemed somewhat unchallenging for both, like they could do it in their sleep. But they both were troopers to be sure!

Lea, Ramin, and Tovah would have all received Tony Noms for sure.
