I saw, more than once, women turned away at the door because they were "straight" (and you can find numerous reviews on Yelp that say the same). There was a female piano players who demanded tips her entire set in a way and made no one want to tip her. There is a Holier Than Thou attitude that has taken over a lot of the staff and created a really really toxic en
I always tip $1 per drink so I’ve never had a problem.
Just make sure you buy at least one drink. Nurse it all night or at least keep a little drink in your glass and no one can say you aren’t drinking. And tell them, if a waitress asks, that you are still drinking.
But I’ve never had anyone force me to drink there.
I like Wed too (Kenny is usually playing and he’s a bit more esoteric in his song choices).
Voice was fine. No glitches. Comedy was right on and she was slyly sexy. She made me cry a few times, not just from the script emotion, but because it was Bernadette up there doing this classic role - so well and entertainingly.
Enjoyed it much more than with Midler and Murphy. She creates a joy up there that transfers to the rest of the cast. The ensemble was tight and loose and funny and fierce. Even that intermina
Not earth shattering...but damn good. Like a series of good music videos. Choreography is great. Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui is a real find. And book is clever and sharp. Staging and video are just about perfect. Morissette's songs sure work for this Musical.
Sure plot is shoehorned. But I went with the machinations and found myself having a good time. Even with
But well done. Just not as enchanting as I would like. In the end it felt like one long psychotherapy session between Fathers and Sons ironing out their problems.
And those garbly English accents! what in hell are you saying, actors?

VERY underwhelmed. The cartoon moved fast and didnt let us dwell on the grim sections. The stage version wallows in the grimness. Sorry, not my cup of tea. The new songs are negligible.
But “Hygge” is one of those numbers you’ve gotta be able to say that you saw. Jaw dropping, completely inappropriate and a hoot. Second Act it just for that.

Unrelated question: Does the actor performing Hamilton do 8 shows a week? I know Lin took off some performances during his initial run but I can't remember if that was just a Lin thing or if it's a Hamilton thing. The role i

Luwoye is still fantastic. He's playing the role just as powerfully as when I saw him in late 2016 when he was Javi's alternate.
Vasquez gives Burr a trajectory I haven't seen played by many others. He starts off the show youngand sort of sm
Luwoye just doesn't have the presence or charisma that is needed for Hamilton. Several times I just forgot that he was the lead character. He fades. IMHO.
