I actually think this is right; I DON’T believe unvaccinated children should be safely allowed to play sports, and I don’t think (and don’t expect) unvaccinated actors should be allowed to perform in a company on Broadway. (I’d be shocked if that mandate doesn’t extend/expand to the new Omicron booster before the winter season arrives, especially in light of this latest cast outbreak).


Don’t wanna put words in binau’s mouth but I took it to mean he was saying, as the only business other than the medical industry that still has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to Covid infections, when will BROADWAY move on from the current AEA rules necessitating this level of scrambling, absences, refunds, frustration, and confusion? Since nearly everyone’s been exposed by now, and assuming casts are vaccinated and safe from serious illness (much less of an “if” than it used to be), it’s no longer fair to the audiences, the producers, and at this point, maybe most of all, the swings, understudies, stage managers and other company members having to deal with this level of insanity whenever cast members, often asymptomatic, are diagnosed with Covid (that in some cases they might not otherwise even know about if not for the mandated testing)."

Ah okay so say there’s a huge COVID outbreak among the whole cast. Should they just ignore the illness and perform? While sick? That’s not fair to anyone in that theater. The performers should be at the top of their game-the audience shouldn’t have to sit through a cast performing while sick.

Did Ramin have Covid in late August or was he out for other reasons? Seems like if he didn't have it, he's definitely at risk of getting it – again. I'm worried about Tovah Feldshuh too, if both Mrs. Meeker and Mrs. Strakosh are out.

Beginning Tuesday September 6th, Lea Michele takes over the role of Fanny!

Barring an unforeseen absence, Ms.Michele is scheduled to perform seven shows a week now through March 2023!

She will not be performing on Thursday evenings. The marvelous Julie Benko will perform as Fanny on Thursday evenings.

NOTE - Unfortunately, Lea Michele has tested positive for COVID and due to current Broadway protocols will return to the show on Tuesday, September 20th.

We can confirm that all of our other principals remain scheduled to perform all eight (8) performances a week barring an unforeseen absence.

The morning after Lea’s premier I bought tickets for a date in March on next year. Tickets on the dates I was looking at were abundant and reasonably priced. I went back to look this morning and there’s nuthin’ that isn’t resale. Did the remaining ticket inventory for the next six months really sell that quickly or did the producers remove some ticket blocks to drum up demand?

Just because someone has a positive COVID test does not mean they are 'sick'. In my opinion the situation could be treated now like any other infection or illness (i.e. on a case by case basis).

To be fair, performers being at the top of their game has not really been a priority to this production since the get go with Beanie Feldstein's casting. I shouldn't have had to sit through Beanie Feldstein's performance in the first place.

On a more serious note, I'm with binau... the COVID situation on Broadway needs to be adjusted and treated more like any other illness.

He was out for "personal time" according to his IG during the last week of August. Early August was vacation to London. He was out with a questionable covid test (again his words) right after the show opened - said he never got sick with it. If you follow him at all, you aren't going to see a more health conscious person. Currently, in addition to FG, he's getting ready for "The Last Match" a wrestling match/musical showing in New Jersey on September 29.

According the the Broadway Covers Twitter, Ephie Aardema is going on as Mrs. Meeker tomorrow night. Oy, and I already thought Danielle Kelsey was too young as Mrs. Strakosh. Now it'll be like Tovah is playing cards with her daughter and granddaughter.

Never mind, Broadway Covers updated that info. Ephie will be in her usual track tonight.

Has anyone noticed that Lea sings her songs in this show in a lower key?

I thought she was great, actually the best Fanny in this production so far, but the other girls including Julie Benko sing it in a higher key. I thought that is quite interesting and I did not expect that to be needed for Lea.
