Isn't EVERY performance of MOULIN ROUGE, by definition, an LGBTQ performance?  Los Angeles Moulin Rouge LGBTQ performance

A ha ha.  Well this one is $61 a seat .. which is a steal..  Obviously the tour is not selling very well.  The show has been playing at the Pantages to half empty houses.

Pantages is also pretty big and maybe wasn’t the right choice for this tour.

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

Huh?  Moulin Rouge is as big and flashy as a show gets.  It is actually a perfect choice for the Pantages.  It is just not bringing in the crowds for whatever reason.

Thank you so much for posting this.  They are not doing a good job on promoting these discounted nights.  It is a shame.  We saw the tour last Thursday.  It is a solid touring production.  I still prefer the broadway incarnation.  The Pantages is a good theater for it.. as this show is amped to the max.  And in this instance that is ok.  But it was sad to see half the theater empty.  Maybe I will go again on this night.

Everything I've seen downtown has been pretty empty too.

Sad. I thought downtown was because no one wanted to see Evan Hansen again.  Is it just in LA ?  Or are tours in general having a hard time coming back?

The last few shows I've seen at The Ahmanson have been full.  Even before Covid, it just depends on which day of the week you go, too.

DEH at The Ahmanson was heavily discounted and still playing to less than full houses.  When I went two Saturdays ago there were entire empty sections.  Moulin Rouge at the Pantages  is also struggling.  If you look at the interactive seating charts.. they have blocked sales in the mezzanine and side orchestra.

Didn't see DEH this time at the Ahmanson.  This is the 3rd time it's played there - saw it the first 2 times, in addition to seeing the show in NYC shortly after it opened.

How was attendance for it’s second run in LA?
