By 9 AM there were 27 people, with a rush between 8:10-8:30. When the box office opened, there were around 50 of us in line. I doubt everyone got a ticket.
We ended up getting tickets next to each other in orchestra to the far left. They're going paperless, so make sure you wait around until you receive the receipt/tickets via email.
Also, remember you can only buy one ticket per person, so if you "hold a spot for a friend" your friend is actually cutting everyone in line behind you when they arrive. Don't be that person!"
Thanks so much for this info! I’m planning to rush next Friday, which is Sara’s last weekend so trying to determine what time to arrive. This was helpful. Can I ask - which door does the line start at? Incase I’m the first one there."
I'll echo alex814's advice- I would plan to show up around 6:30 on Friday, at least. Also note they may change rush rules around special dates. My friend and I rushed Once On This Island on its last Friday open, and when we arrived there was a sign on the door saying there were no rush tickets, only standing room, and the standing room price was twice as much.

Got to the rush line Saturday around 7:45am and was about 61 in line. Ended up leaving & rushing another show bc I knew I wouldn’t get a ticket even with two shows in a day.
Thursday report: arrived at 6:50am to 3 people in line. 2 arrived behind me by 7am, another 2, 1, and 2 by 7:20am, steady arrivals since. It’s just before 9am and there are easily 50+. The line is nearly to the MTC marquee. I’ll report back what I get with the BO opens.
UPDATE: the line was past MTC at BO open. I got a single seat far house right 2nd row.
Post-Sara rush update: I rushed today (Thursday) and arrived at 9:05 am. There were 3 people in front of me. One additional arrived about 10 minutes later and another at about 9:30. No one else arrived before the BO opened at 10am (6 total in line). I got a full-view seat, house right row C (mid row, not far right).
Tried to see this a few weeks ago and it was a pretty hard sell out from the line and available full price. I saw to kill a mockingbird in the box last minute instead. Good to know it is easier now. Might catch this before it is out if I can go to the box office late next time in town.

I got there at 7:00am with my friends, and we were 3rd in line. Front person got there at 6:45am. By 10:00 there were only 15 people in line.
I got a similar extreme side seat, just on the other side. I didn't mind missing some of the scenes around the diner kitchen because I've seen the show enough to know what was happening though I do wonder if some of the scenes would have played better if I'd been centered. Still, good sightlines for center stage and the closest I've been (compared to the Brooks Atkinson). I don't know if I'd rush again for a similar seat but that's also because I had mixed opinions on the cast tonight. But I'm thankful I got to be there to see Jennifer. She could be incredible in this role with more time.
I got there around 3:30 PM today and got a single rush seat in the front row, all the way on the left.

Maybe because it’s a Monday performance, but I got to the box office at 11:00 AM and was able to get two rush tickets. Seats are Orchestra E18 and E20.

Can you clarify if you were allowed to purchase 2 tickets as one individual, or did you have another person with you? Or if anyone else knows what the deal is?
Need to know if I can get two tickets if I go alone, or if I need to bring someone. Thanks!

Waitress has just announced that the show will be closing effective immediately - v sad that it didn’t get to close as planned and that Ciara Renee and Joshua Henry only got to do about half their scheduled run.
