Ive been looking forward to this new Netflix series and somehow I missed the memo that Julie Andrews narrated the series! Just finishing episode one now and loving it.
I picked up on her voice when the first trailer came out and I think it said "Narrated by Julie Andrews" at the end. That was the only thing that piqued my interest. I am not a big fan of the Shondaland shows. Watched Grey's Anatomy for about 3 or 4 seasons, and the spin off and bailed.
Terrific series, fun to watch sort of like gossip girl meets downton abbey and Jonathan Bailey -Company west end is in it as well along with the pleasure of his butt on display... he's sooo good!

Jonathan Bailey goes from Sondheim rhymes to Shonda Rhimes: Here's a fun interview with him, dishing about being an out actor playing a straight aristocrat on ''Bridgerton.'' Plus, the Olivier Award-winning actor from ''Company,'' reveals how it was a ''dream come true'' to work with Sondheim.
Terrific series, so good we binged it over just 2 nights. Julie Andrews was perfect casting and delicious to keep her always off-screen. Or nearly so-- a character in episode 8 tries to unmask her character onscreen but I won't divulge how it turns out.
I love the inclusion of POC in the show! It makes for a richer experience in my opinion. I also love how they didn’t just ignore the fact there were people of colour in aristocratic roles and actually explained WHY they were in those roles.

i couldn't make it past the first "WOKE" episode. This show is a joke. Its like a really bad YA novel that should be up on the TOP shelf at the bookstore where no on can get to it. Its a watered down Downtown Abbey with Taylor Swift music played in the background on a harpsicord or a cello. BRILLIANCE!! oh what incredibly progressive genius that is! I think i first saw it in the mediocre movie "a knights tale" with heath ledger. Gimme a break.
This show is a complete joke and the narration alone is like a mom explaining a story to their 5 year old. blech.

Awww. Are you mad because you saw Black people in a period piece? Your usage of “woke” said it all.
The songs are really catchy... https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Songwriter-Abigail-Barlow-is-Turning-Netflix-Hit-BRIDGERTON-Into-a-TikTok-Musical-20210114
It's fun. It's NOT high art....nor is it pretending to be. Frankly, during all this political strife and an epidemic, it's just what the doctor ordered. ESCAPE.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
