Anyone watch the first episode Friday? I love it! Love the idea of a Real Housewives of drag vibe! Its what I thought they should have done with Werq the World.

But the editing is weird, no? Like why show us the party in flashbacks but not show us the entire party? It seems to play a big role. And why end the first episode so abruptly without showing us the fight? Strange.

After watching for what seemed like at least 45 minutes, I was surprised that only 30 minutes had only gone by.  It really "dragged".  I'm surprised that Jordan C didn't post considering his "all time favorite" queen was on.  She looked to be at least 40 pounds heavier.  More to "love", Jordan.  The winner in the episode was The Flamingo.  If you have ever been in there, you'll know what I am talking about.  Derrick doesn't seem to catch a break.  He always seems to be involved in something.  Is it him?  Or the other people?  His partner though, comes across like a total bitch.  I'll continue to watch.  There isn't really anything else to watch on Friday.

Ha! I came here just now to start a thread about this. I finally was able to watch this morning. I actually shut it off when “you know who” came on screen and did some googling to see if she was gonna be in and ruin the entire season.

But I really enjoyed it. I get how you felt it dragged because I did, too. I think the setup for this was kind of al over the place which made it confusing as to what exact story they were telling but I think it found it’s footing around the time of the party. Honestly, I was looking forward to this but I wasn’t “excited” for it but I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would even if it means we have to endure a month and a half of Derrick Barry and Nebraska who came for one of my actual favorites, Naomi, so Nebraska is dead to me now.

I just wish they had showed us the party! It seems fun and drama filled! And I want to know more about the Naomi/Derrick feud!

We keep referring to it as Real Housewives of Drag Race because we can never remember the actual phrasing of the show. This show is just Ru getting in on that market, and your enjoyment of it will entirely hinge on your tolerance of these types of reality shows.

I’m enjoying the hell out of it. The show they’re all in looks like busy garbage and it’s no wonder they’re feeling punchy. I thought it was weird that they showed us Derrick’s party in flashback like we had already seen it when it was clearly the meat of the pilot, but that drama will be fun for a few episodes.

Also... Stop trying to make Nebraska happen. It’s not going to happen.

I don't mean to be a negative nelly but I'm starting to grow tired of the direction the Drag Race franchise is moving in where it's less about showcasing drag and more about creating the same old, tired reality tv drama. I'm sure the fact that I absolutely hate non-competitive reality tv shows doesn't help ....

The cast is a bit strange to me. You have queens who are better personalities than they are drag performers (Vanjie, Derrick) and others who are great performers but not necessarily interesting tv (Naomi, Kameron). I wonder if the show is renewed for a second season, will the revue cast change to include more queens who are both personalities and performers. Queens such as Alyssa, Latrice, Trinity, Shangela and Valentina, to name a few.

I would happily get behind that! Maybe they could stop in New Orlean's for dinner with Varla Jean, pick up essentials in Walmart with Coco Peru ... 

Related: I remember a while back and everyone was wishing for an All Legends season. I thought it was completely implausible at the time but I wouldn't be shocked if it were to emerge in the next few years. Perhaps the format would be slightly different, no eliminations or something but still, I'm all here for it. I can only imagine how wonderful it'd be to have Varla, Jackie, Coco, Peaches, Bunny, Sherry Vine and Joey Arias on my tv together.

That was entertaining....but oh, so fake.  Even by reality tv standards.  It's Opening Night and one of your stars isn't there.  Rupaul asks "Who are we missing?"  Someone answers "Naomi...she's running late".  RuPaul, "Oh...okay".  Come on.  Otherwise,  I really, really, like Derrick.  My first exposure was this season of All Stars.   For the short time she was on the show, I was drawn to her.  Even more now.  Asa, not so much.   What is different this time with Yvie?  He is really handsome out of drag.  Cute, during his season.  But handsome now.

The Revue? Derrick's a great Britney impersonator. 

This TV show? Derrick clearly has no issue picking fights or starting random drama for TV. They all know what they signed up for (<I>Love Hip Hop</I>, but with drag queens). And it's still seems waaay less messy than any of VH1s other shows.

It should be noted that Alyssa Edwards already has had her own docu/reality series, as well as an episode of the Werq the World docuseries, and neither were very compelling or interesting. Maybe she'd work better in something like this, in the Real Housewives high drama mold, but I don't know.

That lunch setup with Vanjie was so awkward to watch.  It wasn't like it was a blind date .  Vanjie already  had showed some interest.  The guy was really trying, but Jose came across like a stuck up bi**h.  It was laughable that he would call the guy vanilla.  Didn't he have a relationship with Brooklyn?  Brooklyn must be completely different off camera.  It was odd watching Yvie walking through the Flamingo casino floor. Several times he was shown giving "bug eyes" to someone or something.  As I stated earlier, the winner in this is the Flamingo.  It is getting a terrific edit, especially how dumpy it is inside. Actually I am enjoying this more than Drag Race.  It is so scripted like my Housewives shows, but still entertaining.  I am hoping they show some more Vegas bars, since most of the time I don't go.  After watching, I would not have any interest in Charlie's.  That dancer giving the lapdance, would have to pay me.

Derrick is frankly the most annoying person on the show. She's in everybody's business and causing conflict between people. When confronted by Kameron about calling people out or bring up drama between two other people in front of a group of people that weren't involved, she replied "where else could I?". Does this heifer not know the meaning of having a private conversation? Pulling someone aside and talking to them in private instead of calling them out in front of a whole bunch of people? She claims she's trying to fix things, when clearly she's just trying to cause drama. It's not her place to speak for others. Naomi should have grown a pair and spoke for himself, instead of just talking behind Asia's back.

I certainly agree with that. I'd have more respect for him if he was a person who stirred the pot and owned it, not throw stones and hide his hand and act like he's trying to be peacemaker.

Sis...Derrick is this show's Lisa Rinna, Nene Leaks, Tamra Judge, Fredrick Eklund,  Kate Chastain, Patricia Altschul.. ...The list goes on.  Without a pot stirrer, there would be no drama. No cat fights.   We wouldn't watch.  All of these people are the mouth pieces of the producers and the scripted storylines they want pushed.  Here's a secret.  Shush...it's all fake.
