Since Broadways reopening is going to need shows with easy sets, small casts & big names lets finally get this show on Broadway. Is it a great show? No. But is it a fun show? Hellz yes, when done properly. The Charles Busch/Lypsinka production almost 10 years ago was Hi-lariois and Im sure they could get some great (even rotating) pairings of actresses who could bring in the big bucks.

And here I am thinking Julie Andrews and Bernadette Peters.

If Carol Channing and Mary Martin couldn't get Legends into town, maybe it is not worth doing. I saw it, and the play is weak.

The Linda Evans/Joan Collins tour was a dud. This chestnut only sizzles with exceptional talent. You need top notch stage actors and comedians. You’ll also need A listers if you want to fill seats. You’d need Bette and Lily or Lily and Jane or the like if you want a successful run.

Where do I invest????  That is a MUST.

I would “settle” for Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts too

But the play is bitchy and catty fun that will sell a house out with the right actresses.

And Bette & Lily would be a wet dream come true.

Truthfully I’m not familiar with this show.  But Is Maggie Smith the kind of character you would want ?

Because Maggie Smith And Julie Andrews would be then my wet dream come true

I saw the tour with Joan Collins and Linda Evans.

While I agree the play is weak, it’s still a lot of fun.
Joan Collins was easily the stronger of the two and
really ran circles around Linda Evans on stage who
seemed at best, uncomfortable.

Even with those limitations there were still plenty of
scenes that crackled and had the audience roaring.

With the right two stars it could be a really enjoyable
night at the theater. Certainly no worse than some
other things that tread the boards these days.

That ship has sailed.  They no longer speak to each other and Megan’s negative energy on WILL & GRACE is one of the deciding factors to end this reboot this season.  Only they truly know what went down but Megan has terminated all association with Messing and Hayes when this season began production.  She chose to be written out of several episodes, which was honored.

I also agree it's not a strong piece of theatre, but I found the bitchiness between the two leads hilarious.

I know. That's why I said they should play Legends, a show where they're mean to each other. That's the joke.

Who needs Broadway, or for that matter, who needs good reviews when you can play 21 cities over the course of a year and gross nearly $8 million? No show in recent years has posed that question more dramatically than ''Legends,'' in which Mary Martin and Carol Channing have been touring the country.

Washington Post... The critics may balk, but it broke house records in Dallas and has had the box-office jangling loudly ever since. Ego-threatening as the theater can be, savage as some critics have been, Kirkwood figures he can afford the risks.

I still have found memories of seeing the original production on tour back in November of 1986.The event was really was just seeing Mary Martin (and Carol Channing, though she was still regularly performing) live on stage, you really did feel this has the last time you would get to see this type of legendary stage performers in person. The two ladies were having a great day (and getting great support from supporting cast members Gary Beach and Annie Joe) and the entire audience just loved it. Who knows if that level of casting could ever happened again.

Didn’t realize Hayes was invoked too! Sad!

I’d love to see a Nicole Kidman (didn’t y’all see her slap Streep on Big Little Lies?!!) and Cate Blanchett.
