^Likely it’ll be Jordan (assuming he’s back this week) as Zach (or the alternate in general) does the Wednesday and Saturday matinees.

I know it’s not for awhile, but is there any guesses on who could be Jordan’s replacement?
I suggested Khamary Rose earlier in the thread. I could also see them bringing in Robert Markus.

Thank you.

Just realized they added a 7pm show this Sunday. I guess Jordan would do the 2 and Pisner the 7pm assuming Jordan is back. Who is the understudy? Hopefully I see Jordan or Pisner, not the understudy

I'm hearing murmurs that Jordan dropped out because he felt he couldn't sustainably sing the show, and he won't be coming back.

Has anyone else heard the same thing or can confirm?

Didn’t we all wonder that? Seems messy casting. I still think is 100% stunt casting. They cast a name. Albeit a smaller name, but someone who is on TV and commercials, and they’re promoting him in the show. They haven’t done that with any other Evan. Even Ben Platt. So...

It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s not coming back, but if that’s the reason, how strange to start the show and leave 30 minutes in. He’s obviously physically and vocally fine as social media shows though. I think if he’s not in tomorrow I don’t think he’ll be back. I wonder if DEH is scrambling to find a new lead before they confirm he’s gone.

It’s just funny to Me that everyone here questioned if he was vocally up the role... and alas... guess it was a good audition

If that’s the case, that’s quite unfortunate. I was actually intrigued and had considered possibly going to see him in the role. Of course we don’t know if any of this speculation is true, but if it is I would imagine this would hurt chances for him to be on Broadway in the future, especially in a lead singing role.

all this speculation is wild. totally possible that 30 minutes into a show, he suddenly realized he couldnt do it, fled, all the while the producers continued to promote him all over social media. another possibility is that he hurt his voice, or got overexhausted from promoting all his other stuff. or maybe hes a diva who just threw a hissy fit and got into fight with stage management.

none of you have any idea. give the kid a break until you know what happened. and stop acting as if hes some reality tv star being thrown onto a broadway stage out of nowhere: he can sing, he can act, he was great in Hamilton, hes done live television theater- hes got some chops. again, maybe Evan isnt the right role for him, but this bastardization of the concept of stunt casting (pulling a stunt = throwing someone without talent/capability into a role to generate ticket sales... Adam Driver and Jeff Daniels were not "stunt cast" last year, they were notable actors doing great work) has now morphed into wild rumors about this guy based on...a week of absences? Again, i know nothing, but, neither do you.

Has anyone seen Nathan or Josh as Evan Hansen? Are they any good?

With Aladdin making so many cast announcements today, I'm kind of surprised that Jordan didn't try to go for that instead of DEH. Seems like similar timing for a limited run.

Anyway, if he isn't coming back, I wonder if the show might be able to get Andrew back for a few months until he goes off to Harvard.

There's nothing "wild" about any of this speculation. He just started performances, he leaves suddenly, he's on the other side of the country, yet he's still active on social media, and no one is saying anything about it. Until it's cleared up, the situation merits questions, mainly because there are people who have bought tickets specifically to see him.

According to his Twitter, he'll be on tonight.

@Jordan_Fisher: Crazy to think about while I’m singing waving through a window on a broadway stage tonight, some time zones will already be watching TATB2. What is life.

Wonder what happened to him?

Is he good in the role? I know he can sing but is he a good actor?

Just seems odd you'd spend all this time and money promoting someone in a show, and then they aren't in the show..for like a week...

Glad he’s back but I agree with you Ripped, I still feel for all those who had tickets to see him last week and never got an explanation for his absences.

True .. my daughter and I were one of those people, having seen the show 5 times with Platt my daughter only wanted to see the show again to see Jordan ( did the same when he was in Hamilton ) we originally bought Tickets for the matinee show then realized he wasn’t doing matinees so she changed it for Saturday night after confirming he would be working that night. Considering it was only one week after he started we just assumed he would be there. when we went to the theater we looked at the performance board it did not list him as being it out so she was thrilled (it did list the role of Larry Murphy’s replacement for that performance ) so we sat down in our seats and what a surprise when he wasn’t there . I think the theater is playing games by not noting he is out on the performance board . I heard they did that all week

^ I went Wednesday night last week and it definitely was noted on the board that he was out. It’s an Equity rule that you have to note in at least two ways (announcement before the show, a slip in the Playbill, or putting it on the understudy board).

When I went I walked over to take a picture of the understudy board (see photo below) and that’s when I found out Zach was on and it was then backed up by a slip in the Playbill.

Bought tickets after his tweet. I loved his Evan. A little heavy on the tic side but not so much that it was distracting. I feel like I say this with all Evans, but I saw a different part of the story highlighted. I guess that’s what makes this show so repeatable for me.

This was the first time I saw an Evan who truly embraced the lie, where you really see the change in his personality as he “gets something” out of each lie, but still knowing how fragile he and the convolution are. At the end when it all comes crashing down, the impact seemed to weigh on him more and the intensity of everything lost just really made sense.

I’ve also never seen an Evan cry as much as he did. He cried in parts that I have never seen another Evan do (first act) which I found very effective for his specific portrayal. I think it added to the depth of his character that he was more in-control of the lie and that he can get lost in his own narrative if he feels it hard enough.

Great performance and his singing is terrific. He had great chemistry with the understudy Heidi.

However, the audience is a little phone happy with ushers having to constantly remind people not to record.

At the stage door, he was very friendly despite the chaotic atmosphere. I can’t imagine what a weekend stage door would be like.

Also, David Jeffrey as the new Connor (from the Toronto and tour productions) began performances last night. He was wonderful and probably one of the better Connors I've heard vocally.

I believe this Sunday they added a nighttime show. Would Jordan perform at 2 and Zach at 7 or vice versus?

That’s probably why the theater is giving us more tickets because they definitely did not follow that rule the night we went .

Just curious as to how he compares to Ben Platt who was awesome and absolutely cried during the first act ?

The show would be foolish not to put ZNP as the replacement. Never have seen a more hard working brilliant actor.
