New York City Center is putting on productions of Evita and Thoroughly Modern Millie. I'm trying to decide between the two, as I can only see one. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Personally, I’d be more intrigued by Millie simply because I’m curious to see what changes the authors have made and Evita without Patti LuPone has never really interested me.
I have seen EVITA twice. The original production (Matinee so Patti was out) and the revival a few years back. I love the score and want to see this. With that said, I have never seen Millie and really had no desire. At this point I feel I should at least see this production at City Center. If there is one you haven't seen, I say go for that one.
MILLIE. Park is excellent and it will be interesting to see the rewrites. I love EVITA but the Eva casting isn’t terribly exciting.
