As much as I *want* it to be Groundhog Day, Hadestown makes more sense with the clues they posted. (Feet/walking, arrow with the word Back under it, and then repeat symbol). Groundhog Day fits the repeat, but the others don't make sense.
"

reachedout to some friends and Groundhogs Day doesn’t even have an announced tour right now as it is, so likely not that.

Didn’t even think Hadestown! Would be amazing to get that show so soon.

"

I went to a talkback at the SF Playhouse production of Groundhog Day a few weeks ago. One of the ensemble mentioned that the creatorsviewed theirproduction as a test run for what they wanted to do with the show next, whether it be a tour, something with LORT theaters, etc. There's a run at(what looks like a non-equity theater) in Florida coming up, and then a large equity theater in Minneapolis this summer.I assume those are also "test-runs."

All of which is to say: I don't think there's any actual news on GHD touring, but who knows!
"

Could also be Anastasia by that hint. Would actually make sense."

Sort of thought that too, but maybe a bit of a stretch. I suppose "Journey to the past," could make sense within the context of those emojis?...

I think the strongest case for Groundhog Day touring is that Nashville teased it in their Playbill a week ago:

"Just breathe. In February we won't be the only ones popping our heads out of the ground. We'll satisfy your temptation and invite you to take a gander at a 2020-21 Broadway at TPAC season that is written in the stars.

We know it's a little earlier than usual, it's just one of those things. You might call it a preamble to TPAC roaring into its 40th birthday this year. Put on your pink and cue the pomp and parade, we're another year older, and we can't wait to start celebrating with you. Not yet. Soon."

I also have a contact who has said that the plan is to tour in the 20/21 season. That was back in June, so things are always subject to change.

I can't find the BwayinCanada Instagram story mentioned above, but I can't see Hadestown coming to Vancouver that early - usually everything plays Seattle first and at least a year before coming to Van. But a non-equity Groundhog Day - that is exactly the sort of crap they would foist off on us.

You mean like 3/4 (not counting Wicked 'cause it's an add-on show) of the shows that came here for the 19/20 season?
I don't think it'd be Groundhog Day; the picture they had in their story for DEH had a blue background, since it's the show's 'colour'. The mystery show had a purple & gold background, and Anastasia used a lot of purple & gold in their marketing/merchandise.

I think it’s Anastasia. If it’s coming to us next season it must be going Non-equity... right? wink

I think that was announced a whole back, but that seems to be a local production, not a tour (similar to how the production in San Francisco was independent).

It is a local production, but for what it's worth the Slow Burn Theatre Company does Broadway-like shows!

My bad, I misunderstood the intent of your post 2020-2021 Touring Season I'm a big fan of regional theater myself, and I hope the production goes well! (I'm on the west coastz alas)

Yah it’s an Equity house! And the one at the Ordway is also an Equity house. Maybe they’re doing a small scale tour? But I haven’t heard anything.

LA Pantages (now Broadway in Hollywood) at a season ticket holder bowling party today, that was a lot of fun, announced they were announcing on February 3rd. Season will obviously be playing at the Dolby Thestre as the open ended run of Hamilton hasn’t even opened yet at Pantages

I think Waitress & DEH are both equity, so only 1/2 the season.

I passed on seeing Anastasia on bway so I would be fine with that included in the season.

I'm going down to LA in a few months & will see Hamilton again there, so curious about when it will play here & with which cast?

Miss Saigon is in it's second(?) touring season right now and we haven't gotten it yet. Now that Broadway in Detroit is using three theatres again I'm being cautiously optimistic for a decent season."

For real. For having such a large subscription base we seem to get the short end of the stick lately. No, Detroit is not Chicago or LA but markets that are much smaller seem to get most shows before we do. Lately, some shows (Something Rotten last year and A Bronx Tale this year) are not making it here until they have gone non-equity.

Charlie is non-equity too I believe. I’m still bothered by the season a couple years ago that was Love Never Dies, Bodyguard, Finding Neverland, American in Paris, and On Your Feet fir the subscription. Getting that season the year after Fun Home, Hedwig, Curious Incident, Gentleman's Guide felt like a slap in the face. If there’s something I really want to see I’ll drive down to Cleveland to see it since they get everything.

the tour of Waitress that came through Vancouver was non equity.

the tour of Waitress that came through Vancouver was non equity. As was Rent and the FN tour that is coming through  so in the regular line up only the DEH tour is equity  we can assume that Hamilton will be an equity tour so there will be at least one next season

And season option is equity (Wicked) 2 out of 5. Pretty sad.

So Ottawa is getting DEH, Mean Girls, Anastasia, and Fiddler with wicked as an option. I’m guessing that means Vancouver will sub Hamilton for DEH and have a similar line up?

I'm wondering if Ottawa is getting Mean Girls in June, if that means Toronto will be before or after this stop.

Does anyone have any sense of the Fort Lauderdale and/or Miami Broadway Across America and/or West Palm Beach seasons? Does anyone have any sense of when they might be announced? Thanks!

I mean. Normally Ottawa and Vancouver don’t have a lot of crossover. Anastasia maybe being the exception.

I could see Harry Potter posting up at the Pantages or Dolby for a couple months, like Hamilton is doing.  My other guesses for the new season would be Moulin Rouge, Beetlejuice, Tina T, Lion King, Oklahoma, Tootsie, and maybe Ave. Q or Jagged?

Oklahoma City is for sure getting Frozen and Oklahoma!, so that’s 2 out of their 6 season shows. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tulsa gets Oklahoma! as well considering the two usually have some overlap in shows.

My annual subscription has gone up by $400 for 3 tickets so I’m hoping they add a 5th show in Vancouver or they are jacking up prices for Hamilton.

Sadly probably HAMILTON. When it came to Houston the first time, my package price went up about that much. Typically my seats, premium orchestra, average about $100 a show give or take a bit. Same seats for HAMILTON were $400 each.
