I apologize if this has been discussed elsewhere but did some searching and couldn’t find anything. Just picked up a cheap ticket to Blue Ridge at Atlantic Theater Company. Any reports? I know its a very limited run but I was surprised (if not a little worried lol) that no one seems to be talking about it. Thanks in advance!
There were a few positive reports on the other board including praise for Marin Ireland. I picked up a ticket as well and am looking forward to seeing it tomorrow.
Lot of negative reports on Show Score. I'll trust those, plus the subject matter doesn't interest me either. I can wait to see Marin Ireland's acting until she's in a play actually worth seeing.
Saw it in previews. Love Marin Ireland. She's ok here. Just ok. Not her fault entirely. It's a long, dull piece of writing, populated by characters you won't care about. Kyle Beltran and Kristolyn Lloyd each have some nice moments. There's just nothing to sustain this at 2 hours, 2 acts.
Agreed. Marin is very good, as expected, but the play itself is a slog. It was 2hrs and 5minutes and I felt every one of those minutes. It just doesnt know what it wants to be or what it really wants to say on the issue of mental health, human connection/fragility, etc.
I saw this on New Year's Eve and it's an okay show. Nothing spectacular to write home about though. I was hoping there would be some character growth/learning as the show went on, but not really. Very basic presentation of drama at a halfway house. The entire cast is very good, just the plot isn't very.
Saw this on Wednesday, man what a bust, decent performances in a very misdirected and poorly written play, and man what a ugly set and lighting design.
Unless you are DYING to see Marin Ireland hit herself in the face over and over, avoid this play.
