I watched Mamma Mia 1 and Here We Go Again the last weekend.

The first movie is a joyous film. I have seen this  many times but I never feel bored. Is a big hit for many generations. One of my favourite movies.

I don't feel the same with this sequel/prequel.They try to put the funny factor with Julie and Christine(I adore them) but the sadness didn't abandon me during the screening. They forgot the main factor of the original: the feel good sensation. I also saw many  plot holes in relation with the original film. I don't say that it is a bad movie, but in some parts the movie was hasty.

Sorry for my English.

I appreciated the pause during Cher's entrance as if they waited for an applause.

Having never seen the original film nor the Broadway production of same show, i went yesterday to escape the 116o heat of Palm Springs...the audience was somewhat older than me, and they loved it...applauded after some numbers and cheered when Cher landed...i thought the whole thing was mildly amusing...the young men where hot to look at but the plot, so to speak, was stuffed with too many coincidences for me not to laugh as the younger Donna kept meeting hot men only...someone here said this was more like a Bollywood movie,  with all the synchronized dancing from the same cast that was used in every number no matter the location...this movie was the perfect escape from the heat that i needed,  but i would never recommend it...

It was an atrociously bad movie.  If I was not with other people, I would have left.  There was only one good thing about it: Lily James.  Half the songs were in the first movie, with Dancing Queen far superior the first time (NOTE: bigger does not automatically mean better).

I love Meryl Streep, but I hated her I'm this...not that she was bad, more that her presence was squirmy.  After this embarrassing role in the chapel, she is so prominent in the closing credits...who are they trying to fool.

So, I enjoyed Lily James; and while Cher's role was pretty stupid, how could I not enjoy Cher...they need to find a movie for her to star in..she still has major presence.

I am hoping that, at the end of the year, this will still be the worst movie I saw in 2018...I would hate to think I have something worse to come.

And she looks awful in this . The lack of makeup and the High Def made her look horrible.   However;  I did enjoy the movie for what it was.  It was exactly what I expected it to be.  My mid afternoon audience was into it and applauding after every number,  It was fun.

I saw the movie today, and then came back and read a ton of reviews. An amazing number of them had the identical theme: “It was a horrible movie and I loved it.”

Yep.

I LOVED it!! But I think I love the first one more. Lily James, however, has always been a delight to watch so I loved that she was in this one. One thing has been bothering me though:

I thought Harry was supposed to be Headbanger Harry? Some sort of big badass rockstar? And now he’s a desperate, awkward virgin? Well, ok then.

The movie did have some plot holes and for me, some head scratcher moments. All in all, though, it was an enjoyable, fluffy, and heartfelt sequel and I think they did a really good job.

I did like the songs in the first movie much more and just found it overall more fun. This one was by no means a let down. It just didn’t move along as quickly or as smoothly as its processor.

now that ive let the soundtrack steep i think i know what i didnt like about it...which i couldnt pinpoint at first. name of the game was cut from the first movie and it should have been cut again, it sounds horribly dated. insisting each young guy needs a song pairing just isnt necessary.

'Rex Reed certainly didn’t find the sequel charming."

Well, I'll assume he won't be shoplifting the soundtrack anytime soon.

Finally got around to seeing this last night.  It was exactly what I expected.  It was fun and bad.  I kept waiting for Cher to arrive and when she did (a bit long in the film) she didn’t disappoint and her song was probably the best one in the film.  The remixes I’ve heard in some clubs are amazing.  The rest of the songs were just meh and actually seeing Donna hook up with these guys (as opposed to hearing about it in the first Mamma  Mia film/play) makes her seem pretty slutty which is the exact thing I would say if it was a guy who slept with a different person three nights/times in a row.  The guy who played young Bill was the best of the lot though.

It was pretty funny watching Cher sing Fernando and not see any of the other leads except for Andy Garcia on the set.  I was beginning to think they filmed all of Cher’s scenes without anyone else on the set and superimposed everyone in after.  I also thought that when Cher appears in the finale wearing the 70’s garb she reminded me of Carol Burnett wearing those Bob Mackie gowns as a old lady with lots of padding in her TV show.

As bad as it was it was fun.  AND it doesn’t hold a candle to Grease 2 which is still one of my all time favorite movies and sequels.
