I wish Aaron Spelling were alive to create a spin off for Elektra where she was running her phone sex business.

I also really like Angel Bizmark Curiel. Besides being sexy as all get out, I love his character and what he has done with it. I stumbled on this interview with him this morning. It is long but good. He talks about a big  "scene" in the upcoming episode that he was nervous about and didn't know he could do in front of the whole crew. He says it is something he never did before and he knows that millions of people will possibly see it. That is near the end of the interview. Talking about it brought him to tears in the interview. I am now very curious as to what it is.

While Ryan Murphy has that Netflix deal, can we PLEASE get "The Life and Times of Elektra Wintour" where we see her career as a glamorous mafia boss?

Really enjoyed this episode. A chance for Indya to shine. That scene with Angel's father was so well done and acted. I also like the music choices in this episode.

So wondering if we are still being set up for Pray Tell's death. I was also wondering if tonight was a set up for something to happen with Lulu. They warned her about the guy she is dating and I just feel like we didn't get that scene in the apartment for nothing. Or maybe it was meant to show that she has finally gotten control over her life. I hope it just ends with a celebration and we see them all moving on positively with their lives as friends and family.

And now we know what Angel Bizmark Curiel was talking about. I really enjoyed them all breaking out in song. And I think Christopher is going to propose to Blanca.

I enjoyed last nights episode more than any other this season - some great acting showcases for the cast.

I think it would be more powerful to have Pray survive, but I doubt Murphy can resist squeezing a few tears from people instead of ending it on a note of survival. But we’ll see.

I realized last night that most of my favorite shows have unrealistic elements. No way the Friends could afford those spacious apartments. Probably ditto at least for Jack on Will & Grace. And at least Carrie on Sex and City could never have afforded her lifestyle including her apartment, frequent nights out with the girls and those fabulous shoes. Of course those were white characters so maybe we were willing to more readily accept the more aspirational elements. Also, they were writing in a more sitcom format which is already by its nature removed a bit from reality. They were also arguably more consistently written/directed. Of course, they also weren’t looking to create a historical document of a time that has often been ignored on tv. And like most everything else Pose, the fanatical elements are bigger and bolder. It’s a mixture of historical artifact and aspirational reimagining of the past. It’s really like nothing else we’ve ever seen before. Whatever it’s flaws, Pose is groundbreaking tv and I think we can agree that we’ll all miss it when it’s gone.

Also, one of my closest friends is a 70-something, cisgender, heterosexual, African American female. Although she’s known I watch Pose, she’s never shown much interest. I’ve never tried to push it on her. Well, last week she discovered it all on her own and binged every available episode in a matter of days. She still has some occasional takes on the series/characters that can come across as un-woke or misinformed. But it still gives me hope for the future. Granted she was a prime candidate for viewing the show. She’s a liberal Democrat and one of her best friends is a gay man. She is no Candace Owens, but still without Pose, she probably would not have been exposed in this much depth to the lives of this community. I think that will be one of Pose’s greatest legacies - to have represented these characters as the leads in a show all about them on mainstream television and to have employed transgender actors/actresses to tell these stories.

Yeah, I was also wondering if that shot of Pray Tell in the hospital with the oxygen in his nose and Blanca running down the hospital hall was to throw us off and he lives. At least for the finale.

As a gay man of color watching this show has been an emotional roller coaster for me. Willi Ninja was a mentor to me, as he took me under his wing when I first came out. My first boyfriend when I officially came out was one of his best friends and as such he became mine as well and accepted me into his family within the House of Ninja. I attended many a ball as a spectator and watching this show brought back so many memories of those days back in the early to mid '90s.

I related to so many of the characters on this show, their lives and their situations as I lived through many of the same things depicted on the show. Aside from Noah's Ark which had a very abbreviated run on Logo, when that network was strictly dedicated to LGBTQ programming, this is the only other show with gay characters as leads that I could seriously relate to as a gay man of color. I felt a disconnect with other shows (e.g.: Queer as Folk).

I am glad that Ryan Murphy and his producing partners had the courage to create this show and grateful to FX for airing it.

I will deeply miss this show once it has officially ended its run.

Just finished watching the Dominique Jackson episode of "House Hunters" on HGTV. It was cute and they picked the house I thought they would. But there is a moment in the first segment near the end that I rewound and watched about 5 times. I comes up at the mention of a "She Shed". It was a riot and so Elektra. It needs a meme!

So all this past week I have been seeing the cast say that tonight's Finale will have happy endings. Can't wait to watch. 2 hours from 10 to midnight.

Thoughts on the finale?

I am glad the closing shot was what it was. I have to be honest that I just didn't get as emotional as I should have because the focus was on Pray Tell. The show just kind of cast Lulu to the side. She did not get enough of her story told. The season just felt like a collection of Emmy clips for another nomination for Porter. I did get a bit emotional over the revelation about Pray Tell's medications. But that scene with him was even a bit dramatic. It played as if he knew.

Once they finally re-focused on the girls, I loved the Brunch table scene even though it was a "fill us in" scene for Lulu and Angel. We at least got a bit more Elektra and the girls looked stunning.

But we got a show that was groundbreaking with some great performances. It brought back memories of the time. Overall it was well done. I just hope MJ is recognized for her work in this show as well as Dominique, Angel and Indya. They all gave stellar performances. I also really enjoyed Jeremy Pope. Just loved his character.

I decided to watch the first season again. It was, in my opinion, the best. JMO

Just finished the first hour. Melodramatic AF with a great Diana Ross number and ending with Billy Porter doing an unnecessary Glenn Close “Dangerous Liaisons” tribute.

Edit - And now he’s dead. Jesus. This show had such potential and then the third season happened.

I was hoping I was wrong about him dying but it was pretty obvious they were setting it up all season. And the way they did it was so dramatic. Like how did he know? He was perfectly fine and then just dies. They made it look like his decision. And even after, it was still mostly about him.

I loved the first season, it taught me so much about a culture I didn't know existed, and opened my eyes to the issues LQBTQ+  had to deal with back then and today. And the ball scenes were absolutely incredible.

The characters that Kate, James, and Evan played had a nice way of balancing everything out. I will re-watch season 1 occasionally because it's just brilliant television.

Dominique was the breakout star of this series and clearly the fans wanted more of her. So it makes sense they all but made her a minor character this season because that’s how all this mans shows go.

Dominique was a minor character in the finale, but episode 3 was entirely devoted to her, and she played a large part in episodes 5 and 6.

I was fine with Pray getting better on the cocktail. I just figured they were leaning heavily into that whole happy ending vibe that I got from episode 6, and I liked that. So, for me, the Pray giving his pills to Ricky twist felt really contrived. Was Ricky so clueless that he didn't question where the pills were coming from? And when no one at the dinner table put two and two together about where Ricky's pills came from until Ricky figured it out and broke down. Dumb.

I really wanted to feel more engaged with it, but, unfortunately, I checked out pretty early on in the episode. Honestly, I was most moved by the first scene, when Blanca was consoling the young AIDS patient, but, after that, I had a hard time feeling much of anything.

The Ricky thing was a twist I didn't see coming. I just put it off on the fear and him just not thinking and figuring it out at the time. But it was still kind of awkwardly thrown in or something. I was like "well, ok".

I just hope we get to see more of the girls in the future past their upcoming projects.

I will say the use of the choir singing “Love Lives On” was nice and unexpected. I’ve always loved that song but being written as the theme to the movie “Harry and the Hendersons”, about Bigfoot - I never thought of it as an anthem to those who’ve died of AIDS but it works surprisingly well.
